Tasty and affordable Indian cuisine. I liked the mutton biryani very much. The brinjal curry and chicken kababs were good as well. Its very near to the Elephant & Castle Station.
We're yet to do a proper Tooting Curry Blog review of this takeaway's eponymous sister shop in Tooting, but that won't stop me giving the Clapham South branch a shout out.
Chatkara is an institution.
Conveniently located right opposite the tube and the only takeaway in the area to be open til the late late hours, Clapham residents need not look elsewhere.
With a range of curry dishes and sumptuous naans this ticks all the boxes for Indian food fans. There's also the option to sit and eat in for those one or two who've sunk a few too many beers of an evening.
The signature bite is the chicken tikka roll, but don't take it from me, get in there yourself!
We have used Chatkhara to cater for a few largeish family do's recently.
This time a really friendly lady served me. She took a huge take away order for 15 people and then helped get it all together. Quite a task whilst dealing with other walk in customers as well. All done perfectly. No discount for any of the large orders we have placed or even just a few complementary popodoms or samosas would have been nice. Hence 4 not 5 stars. All in all though it's a nice place - definitely worth giving a try.

We're just passing by with my girlfriend after whole day of sightseeing London and got to Chatkhara and we loved the food. Big solid portions (just to remind we were really hungry after all day), food is nice and tasty for a cheap price. It looks really common from the outside and obviously it's just a regular diner though we are really happy we got there and had our bellies filled up.
After walking past decided to try it one night- very good food. I come here a lot now. The portions are big and reasonably priced (around £5 per dish). Staff are always friendly.
Good food. Great value for money. Great variety. Would highly recommend for takeaways but they do have a sit down area as well. My only complaint is that the food is too hot at times on dishes that don't need to be
Great place to have an Indian food.
Best curry in the area by an absolute mile! Then we get onto the value... A quite literal ton of food so fairly priced you'll wonder how they can survive being so frugal.
A mountain of food that tastes unbelievably gorgeous at a great cost, what more could you want? Go there. Go there now
I've eaten here a number of times now. The food is very good indeed. They have good selections of vegetarian dishes. bring your own bottle policy, simply gr8 because food is not expensive at all. Over all great little place to eat
Wow! Yum. It’s looks nondescript on the outside, but is quite nice when you get in. We had butter chicken, chicken jalfrezi, Okra and the lamb Briyani and were NOT disappointed!! So much flavor! Would definitely return.
Been eating briyani for 25 years and let me tell you.. These lads know how to do a proper lamb one. Great food, great price, great portions. Open up the top drawer and just put them in there
This is the place where I have eaten out most during my time in London. Chatkhara is somewhere between a roadside kebab shop and a proper restaurant. Most of the food items are already cooked and you can chose what you want to have and they will heat it up and serve it right away. The good part about this place is the food. It is an absolute delight for the taste buds. I end up licking my plate clean whenever I do a takeaway from this place. It is unbelievably delicious. My favourite is the chicken curry with pulao rice (the rice, specially, are out of the world!). The second great thing about this place is the price of the items. A kebab roll, which is a meal in itself, costs 2 pounds! On the flip side, if you are overly conscious about how much oil there is in your food, this place is certainly not for you. Cos like most pakistani food items, the dishes here are quite greasy as well. But once in a while, it is good to indulge, no? ;-)
