The best napalese food I ever had lovely staff and great environment.
Amazing Nepalese food and great service. Live music nights are special!
The south-east of London has a sizeable Nepalese community and, as a result, a few really good Nepali restaurants. Near Plumstead railway station is Danfe, occupying the former Lord Derby pub. It is still very pub-like inside, with the bar retained and a raised area in the back that is used for entertainment. And you can relax with a nice cold Kathmandu beer.
The mood here is welcoming, a very relaxed family restaurant with little kids running around and a bit of a community focal point at the bar for some of the young Nepalese guys.
Try a plate of their pork momo - a simple dumpling filled with mince meat and spices. It comes served with a choice of dipping sauces, sweet or spicy.
The bite size street food dish pani puri is also good, a fried crisp puri filled with chutney or potato and sweet flavoured water.
The main meat dishes come served with potatoes, chillis and pickles, and will be cooked to whatever level of spiciness you want.
I think I'm right in saying the menu is largely Newari cuisine, the most elaborate and diverse form of ethnic Nepalese cooking.
Servings are simply presented and also very reasonably priced.
Here's an average restaurant review:
"I recently dined at [Restaurant Name], and my experience was decent. The ambiance was pleasant with a cozy interior and warm lighting, creating a comfortable atmosphere. The staff was friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall experience.
The menu had a decent variety of options, and I ordered the [Dish Name]. It was good, but not exceptional. The flavors were nice, but I've had better versions of the same dish elsewhere. The portion size was reasonable, and the presentation was appealing.
Service was fairly efficient, and the waitstaff was attentive to our needs. However, there were minor delays in getting our orders.
Overall, my experience at [Restaurant Name] was satisfactory. It's a suitable place for a casual meal, but it didn't leave a lasting impression. I'd consider returning, but I'm also open to exploring other dining options in the area."
One of the good Nepali cuisine restaurant in London with its popular live band by @dajubhaiinc on Wednesday and Friday. I came on Wednesday once but due to euro game final they didn’t have live band so came on Friday again for live band and I wont deny it was super fun. Food was good but it was more flavorful due to the live band they had. One thing you got to be careful is ordering drinks. Their cocktail list was limited honestly do not order them if u r cocktail person. It was so bad that I couldn’t finish and had to throw it. Ordered several drinks but not satisfying. So better order wine or beer to be safe. Still 5 stars for live band, food and service.
Thank you danfe team just received the order. Compliments to the chef and kitchen staff.. The food is absolutely delicious authentic Nepali taste with good portion.
Great authentic Nepali food in London!
Highly recommend to those wanting to eat or try Nepali food.
The staff are great help.
Wednesdays and Fridays are acoustic nights, I highly recommend going for this to experience live Nepali music.
Book a table in advance!
Been here for the first time and order the perfect set of newari khaja highlight was the alu tama. Buff momo with soup was mouth watering. Pork chaumine was okay and paani puri too. I must recommend for one time experience with friends and family.
my suggestion please dont go in this property for food or drink
The owner is really rude and behave to customer like beggar. i went there tonight and the owner behave me like i was an homeless guy , he was high on alcohol and doesnt know anything about customer service, The only way to teach them a lesson is do not visit there. Thankyou , i know the owners name but cant disclose because he can go through cyber crime but what happen to me tonight i am discribing the fact.
If you want authentic Nepalese food(spicy) and packing full flavour, this is your place to be. Other Nepalese restaurants I have found to be lacking in the spice and masala profile, I completely get why it's done, to appeal to the wider customers.
Therefore, for authentic taste close to home, come here folks.
Live music on Wednesday and Friday means better ambience during these days
Best Nepali food I have had in London. It's hard to find a proper Nepali restaurant and this restaurant delivers on food. I would highly recommend the chilly momo
Tasty dishes are available here. We felt like a nepalese food having here.
Tasty Nepalese food. My regulars are chatpatey, jhol momo, mango lassi. Pork jheer is must try. Most food are spicy so please let staff know if you prefer less spicy. Live music is great addition to this venue. Take my money.
