I absolutely love this place. It's a small establishment right next to the LSE that serves what I count as the cheapest food in London...and as a student this is one of my most frequented food hubs. The staff are generally well mannered and if you get on well and are a regular they actually remember your order by heart which can be quite convenient.

The downside is the fact that many people know this and the queues can be quite long as a result.

Tip: if all you want is a drink you can just walk straight on in and purchase one rather than stand in a 15min queue. A lil advice from a regular.

If you want a budget lunch, you've found the right spot. Being on the LSE campus, Wright's Bar is a regular for some students and nearby workers. You can get a lunch and a drink for around £2, which is an ultimate bargain.

I have had the toasted ham and salad ciabatta, and for this price I can't complain.

The hot chocolate is also great, for when I don't want to go to Starbucks or Pret.

Useful, cheap and decently tasting food and drinks!

Wrights bar is amongst the oldest placed to eat at the LSE. It is located in the middle of the campus for everyone to see, this extremely well priced small diner is perfect for in between classes and lecture, wrights is your place! However, being in so much demand, the lines outside this small restaurant are always long! My personal favourite has to be their cheese and tomato sandwich. The french fries there might be the most crispy and perfectly cooked ones i have ever had, the hot chocolate for less than one pound is definitely worth it! The only issue with this restaurant is the lack of space available which makes it difficult to find a place to sit down and enjoy your meal!

Probably the cheapest place in central London to get food and drinks. The food is rather simple, but also good and preprared right in front of you. The long qeue that you regularly see in front of the place speaks for itself... really good value for your money!

Wicked family-run place. (That is, it's a wicked place, not that it's run by a wicked family!). Not your classic greasy spoon, but there's a similar cafe-like vibe. I guess it's mainly used by people who work around the area and hungry LSE students, but it could equally be a great place for tourists - close to Oxford St, Trafalgar Square etc. without any of the pretentiousness that would come with a place a bit nearer to those locations. Almost manages to be cheaper than the Hare Krishnas who give out food near LSE during term time - and they do that for free!

Now you cant get any cheaper than this! Unless ofcourse you're in line for the free Hare Rama Hare Krishna Indian food around LSE campus. This by far has been crowned as the cheapest place to eat in Central London, and even though i am yet to try all the places in Central London, I will agree that this is the cheapest ive eaten! Run by an Italian family, this place offers a bag of chips for 95p and regular coffee and hot chocolate for around 65p. Cheap- hell yeah! You can get your favourite sandwich filling for a pound or just over a pound. However considering its cheap prices, there is usually a long line outside to get your sandwich so I would recommend avoiding the peak lunch hours and sneak in early or slightly late to get your fix for the day!

Located in the heart of LSE university this place attracts people from all over. Why? Because its probably one of the cheapest places in London. You can get baps, ciabattas, baguettes for £1 and they are prepared right in front of you. The coffee and tea is approx £0.45... so you can see why I love this place. The staff are hilarious and speak their own unique language - somewhere between spanish, maltese, and italian... no one knows for sure. Obviously at such low prices, the quality of the food is not the best, but hey? in this economic climate, a cheap lunch doesnt hurt.

Makes good-value and delicious coffee at LSE :) Never tried food but apparently the queue in the cafe tells that it's good too! Thanks to all for making gloomy London mornings/days warmer with a smile and welcoming cozy place :)

Amazed at the price for a breakfast with a massive tea or coffee. Quality food, it’s a small venue so you’ll be bashing elbows with the next table. Proper spoon, hidden gem. Will definitely return. Recommended.

If you are looking for a very cheap but honest meal, this is your place. And the Italian staff is super nice - that kind of old style non-hipster cafe serving coffee at 70p and giving you a smile for free. I love it.
