One of my favourite drinking dens in London, The Star at Night is a cafe by day and home to the London Gin Club at night. Their gin and tonic menu is the most extensive I've ever seen and is even split up into different categories, such as 'European', 'London Dry' etc. They also have an ever changing tasting menu of four different interesting G&Ts which is discounted if you become a member of the Gin Club (it's free!). Julia and her staff are lovely and I've always found them to be very attentive when it comes to service. It's best to book a table - come here early and stay late to work your way through the menu!

Which type of gin would you like with your tonic? Well, the Gin Club has loads of options so take your pick! Or go all sorts of crazy and order one of their many gin cocktails. I don’t know much about gin or pairing it, but I do know I enjoy drinking gin and that the gin I had here was tasty. The table service is good - they’ll make sure you’re not waiting for a drink, which is better than the bar service at most bars - and the staff are friendly/helpful. I loved the cafe feel about this place, and knowing it was “hidden” inside The Star at Night just made the whole experience more enjoyable for me. If you like gin you must go, if you love gin you absolutely HAVE to go.
Book if you want a table at this charming victorian bar, which has been updated to be part of the trendy gin club. Well informed staff and well regulated tables makes this a good place for a small group of friends or a date- not one for a rowdy crowd. Quite expensive but huge range of gins in particular.
By day The Star is a traditional caff where you can get a cooked breakfast for less than a fiver, but come sunset they ditch the gingham tablecloths and bring out the cocktail menus, transforming it into The Star At Night - home to the London Gin Club. And these guys know their stuff. Their selection of gin (everything from Bloom to Sipsmith) spans two pages, and the gin cocktail menu was equally expansive. We went for the gin flight tasting, which I definitely recommend. For £21 you can sample four different gin and tonics garnished with coriander, strawberry, cardamon or orange, each ingredient designed to bring out the unique flavour of the gin. Yum! And even if you're not a gin aficionado, this place is a really lovely spot to enjoy a drink. Unpretentious music (70s disco FTW), friendly staff and gorgeous retro decor - what's not to love?
The Star at Night is home to the London Gin Club, which has a menu of around 40 gins to choose from. Gins are served in a balloon glass with a tonic of your choosing. They run regular "gin jaunt" events where members (membership is free) can have four different single serve gins for £18.50. To make this place extra special, each gin on the menu has also been paired with a different garnish. Food consists of small-plate style dishes, tasty and good for sharing.
Great little bar, where most bars are rammed with people where you can't talk and can hardly move this is a little oasis. Working with table reservations this bar allows you some calmer space and actually being able to talk with your friends. The staff are really great, friendly and the Gin is pretty awesome to. Definitely recommend this place.
If you're planning an evening of gin and debauchery, this place will service that ambition, but be aware that you'll need to book a place as it's very popular most days of the week. This isn't on account of any sort of snobbish self-indulgence, but of being genuinely great to visit.
The staff know their gins backwards and their recommendations are typically spot on!
Drinking at the Star at Night has changed my view of G&T - they serve the best in London. I had no idea of the range of flavours possible through different infusions and garnishes. The beautiful balloon glasses, atmospheric setting and friendly staff make drinking here a wonderful experience. The only downside is that it's getting really popular and so harder to get a table - you must book to avoid disappointment.
Best place in the whole of Soho, they do my favourite drink. Amazing rangebof cocktails, even if you don't like gin they will have something you will like. The staff know their stuff, not just there to server drinks. Go, you won't be disappointed.
Amazing quaint bar that specialises in Gin. Their collection is impressive to the extent that they have a gin club. ...think cofree shop loyalty scheme. ....but for gin. Staff are very knowledge and also happy to advise on your beverage. Advice is to book a they strictly only serve if you are seaged. ...excellent for intimate get togethera
