Pizzeria Pappagone Sud

I’ve been a big fan of Stroud Green’s Pappagone for many years and last week went for the first time to the Elephant and Castle restaurant. I’d say the food is pretty similar, definitely the pizza dough tasted the same, although my calzone was very flat, not puffed up as in my past experiences at the North London original restaurant. The thing that is obviously lacking is atmosphere. It’s a modern, well finished interior, but in my view it lacks character, it could be any other type of restaurant. It would be nice if they were to add more Italian personality to the place.

The servers and the manager at this restaurant are consistently attentive, and what's impressive is that they maintain this level of service even when you order for takeout. Their dedication to quality service is commendable. their pizza - it's a delightful experience. They serve up fantastic traditional pizza that's not only delicious but also incredibly fast. Even during busy times when the restaurant is full, you can expect your pizza to be ready in about 8 minutes.

This is our fourth time to this wonderful restaurant as a family . We all have very different tastes in our foods, but this restaurant has such a good menu choice of foods that it suits all of us . Food is exceptional, as is the service, and we all like the atmosphere . One visit to the restaurant on a sunny day meant we could sit outside , they have a spacious outside space . Highly recommended. Very good quality of food for .reasonable prices

Strongly recommend Salmon pappardelle was outstanding Haven’t had those to such standard for a long time All my guests were pleased with their order from pizza to starters to pasta. Well done to the chefs. Our waiter was as outstanding and always smiling and keeping us entertained Fair prices for good choice on menu will come back Thanks 😊

I had been keen to give this place a go for a while, so I finally decided to book a table for one Saturday evening. I would recommend booking if you're gonna go over the weekend as it gets quite busy. My reason for wanting to eat here was to try the wood fired oven pizza, so I went for the gorgonzola and salsiccia one (£12.00). The pizza was a good size and had a decent amount of toppings. The dough was light and crispy in the middle, but I found it to be a bit chewy around the edges, and finally there wasn't enough gorgonzola for me...you could taste it but just more as a background flavour...there needed to be more on that pizza! The sausage was fine, and the onion added good flavour, too. Anyway, I was feeling greedy, so I decided to have a Banoffee Sunday (£7.50), which was very good! The ice cream was creamy and gooey, and both flavours were nice, and there was loads of whipped cream, pieces of banana, and toffee sauce! Yummy! I'd definitely recommend one of these if you have room! The service was friendly and relaxed. If the pizza had just been a bit better, I'd of given the place more than 4 stars, but I would still definitely go there again as I did enjoy my food and evening there. :)
