Very good food and friendly staff. My curry was nice and hot just how I like it and so much food I couldn't finish it. Will definitely return next time I'm in the area!

Great restaurant -- best Indian I've had in London. I'm originally from Bradford so trust me when I say I know a good curry house. I'm actually shocked by how quiet it has been when I've come in with my partner. There are cut outs of newspapers where this place has won awards for its food. All I can think is it needs a bit better marketing.
Both times I've come with my partner, we've come in for the banquet menu which is on a Monday and Thursday. This is a great deal where you get a poppadom with dips, any main, any side and rice or naan for £12.99. The servings are a really good size as well.
The staff are friendly and very professional. The place has a really classy feel to it. I would strongly recommend.

I was In London for the weekend craving Indian food glad we came across this place . We ordered a mix of food between us all and had a taste of each other’s dishes. All of them were great tasting but the Vindaloo was the one to remember. The staff were also very attentive and friendly . I’ll be back the next time I’m in London. Keep it up .

Excellent Indian and we have had a few!. On visiting my son in Lewisham last week we stumbled upon Darjeeling Indian restaurant in Lewisham. Taking a gamble as it was a surprise meal for my student son who isn't in the habit of eating out. Well done Darjeeling! Top marks! We had an excellent evening with cracking Indian food. Both myself Mr Perry my son Bevis and our good friend Mr Baker would truly recommend this establishment. We have all eaten Indian food from Brick lane to Suffolk, Birmingham to Lea on Sea, and as far afield as the Middle East. The food was extremely fresh which accounted for the mouth watering taste in every mouthful. Fresh ingredients are what makes this restaurant. I must apologise for rambling but it was best so far and both Dave and I are not spring chickens anymore. Mind you I bet they could make a smashing tasty meal even from Spring Chickens. Ha! Ha! Well done again to Darjeeling for making the visit to my a son a very pleasant one. Adrian Perry, Dave Baker & Bevis Halsey Perry.

Worst restaurant in history of mankind. WORST POSSIBLE RESTAURANT, avoid / stay away, you have been warned!! We went there today for a meal 10 minutes before the place opened, and wasnt allowed in, so we waited outside in the rain whilst the staff sat comfortably inside.
When we asked what time the place would open they continued ignoring us (did not look towards us) until they could no longer, and hesitantly said 5:30. Okay, no problem.....so we walked around and came back when they opened. No smiles, a cold welcome we thought. We sat nevertheless, in very cramped seats (looked as though they are trying to get the last drop out of the place) and looked at the menu to order, and shortly afterwards the waiter (rather rude guy I'd say) came over. We were the only ones in the restaurant and we gave in our orders, which is when the rude waiter started his "upselling" routine - we ordered one mains, 2 rice dishes and some drinks and said we will order more shortly. However before we could go on finishing our order the rude waiter interrupted us and forced us to order a significantly greater number of dishes saying that "its difficult for us if you dont order minimum 2 mains per person" and said instead "we rather have this place completely empty than serve you". We were SHOCKED to hear such language as the place was empty and we were about to order about 13quid worth of food (with more to come) and we were then kicked out of the restaurant with the words "we need our table back".

The restaurant was completely empty, and we felt very very insulted with such behaviour. They were talking in Seleti language amongst themselves and I could say no more than the fact that they were simply THUGS dressed in waiter clothes. Heck, ive met thugs and they were more polite and friendly than these people were. Btw, throughout the conversation the rude waiter shouted at us and we were rather flabbergasted .

Other observations:
1) Wall paint was running thin and peeling off, possibly a food, health and safety issue.
2) Some staff spoke very little english or did not speak at all, possibly illegal
3) They claimed to be Indian but were in fact a sub-culture of Bangladesh called Seleti, be-smirching the name/face of Indian cuisine
4) They spoke to us in very threatening voices, and preferred the place empty - perhaps a place of illicit activities?
5) Never have I (we) seen such rude/crude behaviour anyway, let alone a blatant disrespect to customers. "Customer service" is not in their vocabulary. First time I have been kicked out of anything in my life, especially when I have gone in to spend about 20 quid or so for food

In short, save your money and eat elsewhere, do not give your customs to this place and certainly do not order from their take-away menu. I would not be surprised if they spat in your food if the phone conversation did not go smoothly or if you complained about delays in the delivery. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Outstanding. Our family have been eating here for years and it's the best indian in the whole area with consistently good cooking, friendly staff and great prices.
The tandoori dishes are especially delicious - King Prawns to die for!

It's packed out every night with a mixed crowd. Fantastic place.

You could be forgiven for thinking you'd been transported back to the 1990s when you visit Darjeeling in Lewisham. Not because the decor is tired, because once past the garish pink sign that announces the place it's pretty smart and contemporary. But, joy oh joy, you'll be transported back by the prices. Eyes were popping out and gasps were heard from around the table as the menus were opened. "This is the place to order king prawn," was a good shout. And when the usual, "we've ordered too much," was heard it was decided that this was the place to pile high the table and taste new dishes, even if we had over-ordered (does anyone ever under-order in an Indian?) And so the dishes came… Malai Lamb Chops (£2.85) marinated in cream cheese and spices, so tasty you'll be sucking on the bone long after the meat has gone, the favourites Chicken Chat (£2.05), Sheek Kebab and Shami Kebab (both £1.95) and a more unusual Spicy Calamari (£2.85) that was sir-fried with
