Slightly expensive but incredibly lovely, cocktails at Lounge Lover always feels like a special occasion. Decor is beautiful and interesting, the smell of incense is warm and welcoming and cocktails are uniformly delicious. Table service can be slightly slow when very busy but you can always just visit the bar if you don't want to wait. Book in advance as seating space is limited and it is always busy.
Loungelover provides a cool, relaxed environment to chill out with friends whilst enjoying amazing cocktails which are beautifully created. Loved the private room which appeared for us when they drew back the sliding doors (it used to be their art gallery sometime back - so am much happier with the comfy sofas now in place). Particularly recommend the vibrant coloured Utopia, which also tasted fab. Highly recommended!!!
Don’t let Lounge Lover’s grotty back street location fool you – the bar is just beautiful. I fell in love with it before I so much as opened their cocktail menu. It has a quirky orient feel that’s definitely on the right side of ostentatious. That paired with the lingering smell of rose incense, charming table service and music pitched perfectly for conversation makes Lounge Lover the sort of place you can spend an entire evening in. Unfortunately the price of the cocktails isn’t conducive to an all-nighter. Not to say that they’re overpriced – the extensive menu is imaginative and they all tasted wonderful – but £10 per drink isn’t cheap. And because the cocktail menu is so huge, you will want to work your way through all of them. My favourite was Chocolate Mistress – a mix of Tuaca, Baileys and frangelico that I’m desperate to recreate at home. I’d definitely recommend that you book in advance, especially if you’re planning on a weekend visit. Groups of two might have to share their table, like we did, which was a little annoying. Lounge Lover may be pricey but it’s definitely the spot for special occasion drinks (before nipping off somewhere a bit cheaper).
The eclectic & somewhat kitsch decor at Lounge Lover is very much in keeping with the location. You either love it to bits, or hate it to death. Same goes for the cocktails - I've had friends refuse to have another sip of cocktails they first ordered but then termed 'revolting'/ 'disgusting'. Fortunately for me I love the decor, and the cocktails (the $azerasc in particular). Expensive, but hey - you're getting table service and there's a picture of a woman giving you the middle finger in the men's.
I love LoungeLover! that's the kind of place I could go every night of the week. The deco is busy, colourful and tasteful. I like explore and there's plenty to see. The cocktails are beautifully presented and the staff is very knowledgeble. I had a fantastic creation the 8 of hearts : vodka, amaretto, peaches, raspberries and chilli, came in a beautiful martini glass with sugar rim. The other cocktails looked great too, in particular the LoveLetter, very sophisticated. I've been before and I will be back again. Recommended.
Love it! Some of the best cocktails in London, both selection and quality, quirky décor (think 2m vases, taxidermied hippo head, and eclectic chandeliers.) and a cool vibe.
Expensive, and slow service, but always worth the trip.
An empty dolls house filled with candles, mismatched plates hanging on the wall and big gold letters above the bar which spell out 'LOVER' on the wall make this place so achingly Shoreditch it almost hurts. A cross between an eccentric old woman's front room and an art student's living design project it's hard to take everything in at once in this place but thanks to a whooping long cocktail list chances are you'll be back enough times to adjust to the hip factor. Only downside is the drinks are a tad expensive so you may have to restrict yourself to one or two and it can get really busy so if there is a group of you/ or it's a special occasion book in advance.
I must have walked past this place a 100 times, its just off the beaten track and near the cool hip but bit expensive area of Shoreditch.
I was told this place was a really cool bar, so on a random weekday, I walked past here with my girlfriend and it didn't seem too busy, so we walked in and went to the bar for a drink. We were then told, that we needed to book and that the place was really busy. (It wasn't, but you have to go through these hoops with these types of places)
We were then showed our table to sit at, then we went up numerous times for different drinks, asking the barman to make whatever he fancied, each time, being a great drink.
We also had some little bits of food which were amazing too.
All in all, I'd recommend this place if you want to book and spend a bit of money and have a great time, the drinks on their own are worth the visit.
Pricey but so ever popular, there’s no doubting that the interior design with artistic style has the wow factor: a warren of rooms, each with its own identity; like a walk through a film set. The elegant cocktails are among the most original creations in town, often with quirky names. Think about making a reservation because space is limited!

Cocktail lounge that oozes with trendy. With an interior design that is a mix of the sublime and the ridiculous. At just shy of a tenner a pop, drinks are expensive, but all spot on - so you won't manage to have just one. Make plans to go on elsewhere, if you don't want a super-expensive night!
