So pleased this pub has reopened under new management who are all so lovely. We had our first baileys hot chocolates for autumn and the most amazing chips. Gorgeous friendly pub

Lovely quiet pub with excellent service and great food. I’ve only been in once for food and it was on St Patrick’s Day a while ago for their special menu and had the best oysters (in Guinness!) really unexpected and delicious! But it’s also a good spot for a quiet drink, with some sofas and armchairs as well as the wooden tables and chairs. Usually they have fresh flowers and candles on the tables - it’s charming whilst retaining a local feel.

Popped in to The Star on Saturday lunch time and am so pleased I did.
Ended up having a three course lunch and shared two bottles of wine!
Also met the owner and his family which was a nice surprise.
I can highly recommend the tarte tatin if you have any room left!

Ceco is the perfect host. His food is amazing but not overpriced at all. We stayed in highgate for a week and ate here 4 times. You are instantly made to feel welcome, part of the family. Nothing is too much trouble, all the staff are friendly, polite and very hardworking. Dog friendly is an understatement, ceco brings the dogs smoked duck!! This place is a hidden gem 💎 If I lived on chester Road I'd be eating here every night!

What a fantastic feast of goodness next to Godliness. I ordered the smoked haddock with spinach and poached egg and a magical sauce. I nearly ordered a 2nd plate ! Chef Zico knows his produce, fresh vibrant flavours. An unmissable experience I can't recommend The Star (Restaurant) pub enough ! Gastro experience to behold, and the wine selection is superb too 👌

Absolutely lovely hidden gem well worth traveling for! We were visiting local friends who brought us here last night. It's a beautifully decorated pub with friendly service, quality drinks, a great atmosphere and incredible food. We had a deliciously tender lamb tagine, and a variety of steak, salmon and sea bass dishes. The quality and flavours were top notch. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

Amazing place! Great for drinks but the food is the best part! Top quality dishes, must try the sea bass, mussels are the best I have tried in London, smoke rilletes and the steak simply delicious. We have been here recently twice to eat and have really enjoyed it. The menu is interesting. The dishes are carefully considered and prepared - never disappointing. The chef was interested to know what we thought. We will be back. Good beers too.

This is a recently reopened pub - their kitchen is not open until next week, so I can't give a 5 star until that truely opens. Otherwise the staff are friendly, they have two ales on, a small back garden and their main space includes a working piano and ample seating - definitely one to watch!
