Nice little wine bar. Poor selection of beers but that's not what you go there for.

Situated on a quiet street between Aldgate and Tower Hill, this underground wine bar and restaurant is a hidden gem! This is a great place for a quiet date, particularly if you want to avoid the hubbub of nearby St Katharine Docks on a weekend night. We arrived at 9.15pm on a Friday evening (note the restaurant closes at 10pm), but the waiter was really friendly and willing to accommodate us. It was pretty empty around this time, but was nice to get away from the noise and clamour, as we'd just been in a pub where you could barely hear each other.

We were fortunate to find this great gem in the middle of the City. Food was excellent, prepared exactly as requested. Service was exquisite (Mark). All requests were handled professionally and with a smile. Thank you. Burger was one of the best I had in London. Fish and Chips were prepared with a thin batter and lightly seared on a pan. For dessert, we had the ‘mini’ version combined with a coffee. A perfect end to a fantastic meal. We will be returning.

I had not been for a long time but old established bar/ restaurant with regular City clientele. Davy's old Wallop a feature and efforts to have reasonable priced different sausages and mash as well as a full city prices menu. A cosy place and customers well looked after by staff. Pleased it still survives in an ever changing City environment.
