Mate, the food is superb but don’t take my word for it, come and give it a go.
Service & beer is a bonus.

Such a lovely pub, really good atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. The food was delicious. Will definitely be coming back. Cannot recommend enough!

We were in the upstairs area for a family gathering, so can't comment on the main pub area. The buffet was nice it was a pleasant atmosphere and the staff were excellent.

Yeehaw! What a fab night that was at The Star in that there Plumstead! I have "Live, Laugh, Love" on my living room wall and I did all three! I literally danced my pants off, as the elastic in my y-fronts snapped! I haven't laughed so much since my nanna caught her nipple in the mangle! Unbelievable service, standard and atmosphere. We’ve dined here a few times and have loved it. Today a larger group for Father’s Day were left full to the brim all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, even the picky kids who were catered for.
Such a relaxed friendly pub, we lost track of time.
The staff are all fantastic, so friendly and accommodating.
Highly recommend for groups of all sizes (and dogs).

The Star is a favourite pub in the area. It’s my local and I’m very happy that it is. Choice of beer is good, Pizzas are excellent and the drag quiz is great fun. But what makes this pub is the team that work here. Great job guys.

Popped in for a quick visit to this completely refurbished pub. It was warm, welcoming and cozy with friendly staff behind the bar and good music at a conversational level.

This is a good old drinker, one of the original Plumstead 'Idlers' - the 'Star that never shone' - just at the top of Bird's Nest Hollow on Plumstead Common Road. And you will find the interior decor hasn't been ruined by ill-thought through renovations over the years. So plenty of wood panelling, beautiful ceilings and original fixtures. Staff are friendly, the food is cheap and cheerful and there is a jukebox with about a milllion songs on it. Unlike a few pubs in the area the clientele are a pretty good bunch and you don't get too much rowdy goings on.
