For more years than I care to remember this has been my local, even when I lived a 20 minute walk and past 3 pubs to there from St. John's Wood. Now I have a house 5 mins walk to here, but still pass a pub to get to The Landsdowne. That's how good I think it is! It might look like a hole, but here there are people who live here. The Queens has your park people, the Pembroke your bridge people, the Engineer your TripAdvisor people. But the Lansdowne simply had people. Oh. And bloody good food.

First time in this pub. Had a great time chatting with my friends as we waited to go to a music gig at the Roundhouse. Staff were very friendly and seemed to deal really well with a full bar and outdoor seating Saturday afternoon in the sun. Will definitely be coming back here.

A lovely independent boozer, with an excellent food menu. Pizza seems to be a staple here, also got some decent healthy options like steamed and grilled fish and salads. Burgers looked excellent even if I didn't get to try them! Bit of an institution around these parts as I understand...

We left, full and content, and once again the gastropub had saved the day. And next time I’m stuck with a crowd of people whose tastes are too diverse for any sane person to deal with, I’ll be back at the Landsdowne, breathing a sigh of relief and ordering dessert.

It was a rib sticking early evening treat. The right amount of busy (Tuesday night). It would be a great place to sit back with a paper and a pint of bitter after another trip through that menu on a quiet Sunday afternoon. But I reckon that you'll have to

A quiet pub frequented by locals with a fantastic menu that they change frequently.

I have my first rabbit stew here and have been going there ever since. Very scruffy in the finest bohemian chic kind of way. One of the only pubs in the area not to have been given a horrific posh make up with garish wall paper, quirky furnishings and try hard menus.

They do great pizza, grills, proper pints and a well selected wine list. Great on sunny nights as it is one of the last patios to retain sun in the evening.

Better than ever. I can only assume that the pub is under new management. Marked improvement from when I was last there. The pizza was as good as you will get anywhere in London and a great selection of drinks. Clean pub (including toilets) and good lighting. As a photographer I always judge a place by its lighting! Small things like bespoke plates gives it a more homely (vs standardised commercial) feel. A good pub is nothing without friendly staff; and they were lovely. I wonder what the Sunday roasts are like.... must give that a try! My only gripe..... £7.20 for a pint of beer and £4.50 for a lemonade drink left a somewhat bitter taste. I can only assume it's priced according to its location.

Went for lunch an amazing “ working lunch “ menu £10 a Main or £20 for 3 Starter of fish cakes exquisite, more akin to bistro v pub . Yet the quality of the cooking kept on coming. The cod cooked to perfection, translucent with another amazing sauce full of flavour Dessert also did not disappoint Ignore the negative feedback from muppets who turn up on a Sunday lunchtime at 1pm and can’t believe it’s rammed QED . Give them a chance the chef is amazing

We’ve been coming to the Lanny for over 10 years and its a a firm favourite with my now 10yo daughter! Its changed a lot over the years, and although its lost some of its mismatched wonky table & chairs charm, its current incantation is one of the best. The food menu is short - as it should be - and the drinks menu extensive - as it should be, its a pub after all! Service was good and food excellent. A short throw from Primrose Hill, the Lanny is one of Londons not so hidden gems.

My husband and I just moved locally from the states and came on Sunday for a delicious roast lunch. Amazing service from Courtnay, who served us a good drinks and the waitress Irene who gave us excellent table service. They were both bubbly and super helpful. Will definitely come back to try the pizzas next time as they looked good.

🚇 Chalk Farm 🍺 £6.30 Moretti ❤️ A relaxing Gastro in plush Primrose Hill. . The Lansdowne is located on Gloucester Avenue in the upmarket enclave of Primrose Hill. The nearest tube is Chalk Farm which is a five minute walk. . This pub was built in 1861 and was a Charringtons pub for many years. The pub is clad in beautiful tiles, if you look just below the awning you can see the original Charrington’s signage. . The decor here is traditional with some contemporary touches. The walls are off white with cobalt blue panelling which is also around the bar. Dotted around the pub are chalkboards detailing the food menu and wine list. . The beer choice was solid, 9 keg and 2 cask. I went for a Moretti which was a good pint and just north of six quid. As it’s Christmas time, there was a caldron of mulled wine on the bar for those who fancy a festive tipple. As this is a gastro, the food menu is a fair few notches above your normal pub fayre. The food was popular, most of the clientele were dining with the exception of a couple of tables. . The service was excellent, the chap who served me was personable and getting in the spirit with his Christmassy shirt. The atmosphere was buzzy, the crowd was a mixture of couples, families and a large group of French guys enjoying the fine cuisine. . The @lansdownenw1 is a handsome Gastropub in a pretty neighbourhood which makes this place an attractive proposition. If you just want to come here for a beer or a glass of wine then there are provisions for you, this place would be great for date night. If you’re exploring the area then definitely pop in for a visit. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 10/12/22

Popped in the other day for some food and drinks. Was served by a girl called Courtney. She was very welcoming. Recommended drinks and told us what sort of food they offer. She made us feel comfortable. Would definitely return because of her helpfulness and bubbly personality

We had the chicken and beef Sunday Roast and really enjoyed both! Very tasty with lots of gravy which was a real hit to me, although some people founded it a bit too much! Might worth to have it on the side, but for me wss just perfect!

Above the average British pub in terms of food. Many tables outside for those fee sunny days. We chose to eat the chicken sharer and everything tasted great. Sweet ports potato fries and humus were excellent. We also had a Caesar salad with anchovies. Service was fast and everyone very polite and always responsive to our requests. I would definitely go back.

The place is really cosy, you can see is the local bar because of the customers. It has a fireplace making feel part of the place. The food was really nice and the waiters were kind and attentive.
