This shop can be easily missed out but its red board and green doorframes kind off invited me in for the first time. An extremely wide ranged Chinese menu with lots of vegetarian options as well. It has a sit in which is not very large but looks comfortable, although I have mostly collected take away but I can tell the staff is quite friendly. It serves a really good portion for just £ 3.50 you will be surprised.
Found this place by accident when walking around late night starving. As a noodle sensitive person, of course I ordered a noodle dish. I really like Tom Yum, so I had this Mixed Seafood Tom Yum Noodle Soup. And I also always wanted to eat hot and sour soup as well, so we had this too.
The noodle soup was very tasty. The portion was generous but very easy to eat. It didn’t make me feel stuffy.
The seafood in the noodles were also very generous. I really liked those king prawns and the scallops! The downside was the Tom Yum soup itself. It was a bit too watery. Not very thick and not very strong taste at all.
About the hot and sour soup, it was very thick and delicious. My partner and I really liked it.
Although there were signs that they accept cards, but in fact they didn’t. They only accept cash was also another downside from this place. Well, but at least the staff told us about this when we’re entering the door, so it’s ok. But of course, would be much better if they really accept card payments as it’s shown on the door and on the wall.
The service was amazing. It seems like a family-run business. The girl who served us was very very friendly and seems very caring to the customers as well.
Overall, I like the place and definitely will come back. 😊
We booked a table of twenty for my friends to experience authentic Cantonese style dishes for their first Chinese New Year celebrations and they did not disappoint. We had at least thirteen different dishes and the quality didn't falter throughout. I definitely recommend taking their advice placing a preorder for the seafood courses (if you wanted to try something specific like lobster or crab) and they’ll buy it in fresh from the market. I have to mention that our vegan friends were also very well catered for too.
Thanks New Tastes for a memorable celebration!
Best authentic cantonese food around. Family owned and run. Great options for vegans and meat eaters alike. Huge menu. Best homemade spring rolls, imperial chicken (texture like butter!) and fish head soup.
Really good traditional Chinese restaurant, run by a local family for a number of years. Very good service, nice and attentive. Food is very good, consistent quality and great value for money. Doesn't look like a lot from the outside but it's definitely a local gem that I'll be coming back whenever I miss some good home cooking.
Extremely lovely and welcoming staff. It is a family run business, where they treat their customers very well and you can see that the regulars have sweet friendships with the staff.
They do excellent seafood here. Would recommend the oysters with ginger and garlic, and have some Chinese tea alongside this.
They only accept cash, so make sure to bring some, or there are some cash withdrawal ATMs nearby.
Affordable, generous portion, tasty, authentic Chinese food and friendly/speedy service. So glad we have this little spot in Hackney! Lots of choice on the menu. Don't be put off by the lack of interior decoration. The food is too good to miss out! We really need more of those restaurants in London Fields, an area that has become quite expensive.
Visited for the first time today, Do not be mislead by the humble exterior. Inside the restaurant is clean and very welcoming. the wonton soup one of the best my wife and I have eaten (it is our touchstone for Chinese culinary excellence) the main course very good and the tea very pleasant indeed. We will visit again.
This place is excellent. "The food is just like home" said my wife who is chinese. We always come back. Have the imperial chicken, the braised pork belly and gailan. You will come out of there with butterflies. The staff is so friendly, it is a family owned authentic experience. Highly recommended.
Very friendly family runned restaurant. The staff are amazing and never let your glass go empty.
The food was top quality and definitely authenic Vietnamese and chines cuisine. Will be back for more! Try the pork belly, best in London!

Small e simile place with very amazing food! Go there and taste the new taste! For sure when I'll be back in London I will get there again!
