It definitely is the UK is version of Starbucks. But it's actually better than starbucks. The sandwiches are better, the coffee is better. And a service is much more friendly. You don't feel like you have walked into a different culture, you just feel like you walked in or regular coffee shop where they want to take care of you.

The staff make it! What makes all the difference here are the friendly and efficient staff.
Your standard Costa Coffee, the New Bridge street branch does have a warm and relaxed vibe with some sofas to lounge on. Able to get a fair amount of admin or reading done here. On those longer, lingering visits, the staff are friendly, helpful without becoming intrusive.

Little brunch. Hot chocolate was a little luke warm at best. Toastie was good and so was the cake. Nice and quiet despite being close to the station. Staff are friendly

Cold raining morning. All we need is fog. But this early morning this cafe is just clean, convenient, and the girl Alessia, behind the till, was really delight to deal with. Even offered a napkin to dry my spectacles. Small touches like this makes it special. I nearly went for the morning Nap with scramble eggs. Looked enticing.
