First time trying Mayling and will most definitely return in the future. Ordered chicken chow mein (7/10), beef fried rice (8/10), salt & pepper squid (8/10) & prawn butterfly (7/10). No fancy business or dolled up food just good old Chinese food cooked fresh and proper. Customer service was excellent and food arrived within 10mins of ordering piping hot. Recommend getting a pot of black bean sauce to pour over your chow mein or fried rice as it’s delicious!

I have nothing to say but wow! If you are looking for an amazing resturant with homely service this is the place to go to. Walked in 15 minutes before close and was treated with amazing service. And the food..... Wow un beatable in NW!

Best asian restaurant in zone 1 for its friendly staff and owner from Hong Kong, affordable price and tasty food. Highly recommend trying it out by taking the Northern line and stop at Mornington Crescent station

Friendly staff member on the phone when we had a question! Chicken chow mien was very nice but the Singapore spicy chicken noodles was very bland unfortunately; got a slight hint of curry powder possibly? But not much flavour. Good prices also. I will order again and give it another try 👍

I recommend this restaurant 100%. You won't be disappointed, the service and the food are simply amazing. The owner is so friendly and gives excellent recommendations. They're also willing to adapt the dishes to preferences and dietary restrictions.
As for the food, is so delicious!!! Aunthentic Chinese flavors. My personal favourites were the BBQ ribs and the fried rice soooo tasty!
Definitely I'll go back each time I have the chance!!!

I've been eating at Mayling for a few years now, and would highly recommend to anyone in the area. The Black Bean Curry is my personal favourite. Priced at £7.20 (fantastic), you can add a variety of vegetables for just a few extra quid to have the complete meal. Healthy dinner, good service and reasonable cost. Just make sure you can handle a bit of spice if you go for the Black Bean Curry!

I've been a customer for four years now at Mayling so that should be testament to their food. Delicious, tasty and spicy - getting a good spicy option from South Asian restaurants seems limited so it's definitely a plus point.
I've started using their delivery service a lot more recently and always get a prompt service with no issues ( long may that continue). Mayling have a system in place that recognises your number and matches it to your address. If you can upgrade that system to remember the last order that would improve what is already a really good service!

Food is alright, it’s more a take away restaurant , you can eat in as they do have some tables, not that bad.
Had a beef in ginger and spring onion + rice and soft drink £10.50
They are a take away and restaurant, so they are busy doing the take away orders.
Rice is descent, staff are nice.

Came across this takeaway on a recent visit to London.
The staff were very pleasant and cooked my food exactly as I requested, not too spicy. I had the crispy chilli beef with rice and it was one of the best takeaway dishes I have had.
Definitely worth a visit.

Authentic Chinese cuisine done hong kong style (and close enough to the south east asian style)
Hard to find Chinese food that is not too salty and not too oily!
(Through most may feel it is not salty and not oily enough)

Mayling has a pretty large menu so it's understandable that some stuff may not taste as good. But I come here literally every 2-3 days for the same exact items because they're delicious . Order any of these and I guarantee you'll leave happy. <br/><br/>1) Singapore rice noodles<br/>2) Satay chicken on skewers<br/>3) Malaysian fried rice<br/>4) Salt and pepper squid<br/><br/>For the squid, remind him to make it extra salty (trust me).<br/><br/>For the price you pay here (around 5 quid a dish) , this place is honestly fantastic. A real hidden gem in the area, and tbh I'm hoping it doesn't get too popular or I'll have to deal with queues and stuff :)<br/>

I got the special chow main as a quick takeawaysmeal after uni - huge portion, tasted okay (though the flavour of msg came through quite strongly) and all for a good price - no complaints though the actual interior of the restaurant could have been more refined
