Nice simple Indian food. Though run by Bangladeshi, but amazing grip on Indian cuisine! Place is a little cramped but good ppl make up for it.
Good food, great price. It's often difficult to find good quality diners in London for a reasonable price. I came across Motijheel when staying at a local Holiday Inn nearby and thought I would give it a try.
I must admit to being worried when I saw the prices as places at this low cost normally serve small portions or poor food. I need not have worried as neither was true.
I didn't try anything too adventurous but it was great food and the service was good.
I cannot find prices this low in Derby never mind London so I was amazed. It gave me chance to order more than usual and still get a cheap, good quality meal.
Highly recommended.
Can't understand the negative reviews. I use to eat here in the 1970s before moving away from London. Re-visited a couple of years ago (the same owner was there!) and it has hardly changed. This is good. Food is always excellent, the portions may be on the small side but the taste is lovely and the staff friendly. Very convenient location in Bloomsbury if you are staying in one of the hotels on the Euston Road or just waiting to catch a train.
A friend and I wanted to eat at a restaurant that was within walking distance to our hotel . We were wondering around the streets undecided about what kind of food we wanted. My friend was leaning towards Indian and I was betwixt and between when we came across Motijheel. We entered with some trepidation as we knew nothing about it. And were we glad we did! The staff was welcoming and gracious and the food fresh and delicious. We could not have been more delighted. The prices were reasonable and an added pleasure was that were white tablecloths and napkins! Highly recommend it!
Don't knock it. Friendly and good value. I've been eating here since I was a student living in a bedsit in Tavistock Place over 30 years ago and I still love the place. Sure, it's not top of the range and hasn't changed that much to follow trends, but the food is good, tables are clean and there's no rush...Give it a go if you're in the area and ignore the negative reviews. I love it! You can even ask for food not on the menu (to a degree) as I for one love a phall - and it's good, and of course damned hot. As it should be.
We had the fixed price lunch (about £7 vegetarian and £9 meat) which was very good value. Food was very enjoyable and the staff helpful. We were tourists in London and chose a very good window seat so could watch the world go by. Located in a pleasant part of Bloomsbury.
Website was wrong! Called a different restaurant halfway across England! Came in expecting my food to be done but nevertheless I quickly realized my mistake. Anyways, they were very accommodating and took my order quickly. Great food, great staff!
Very, very good indian food here.I had lamb shank, balanced aromas on the mild side, super tender meat. All 3 of us was happy with the choice of restaurant.
Very good value for money. Friendly staff who will advise you if you don't know what to choose. Just go and taste their fabulous dishes.
