Enjoyable decor, average food.
So what is this? A Mexican restaurant? I couldn't quite tell, it's a weird place.
The food does the job, typical of what you're probably after if you're looking up Mexican food; fajitas, nachos, etc. Not the best I've had, but definitely above average. The prices were about right too.
The place itself though, is what gets the extra star. It seems to be a fairly relaxed work area, as well as a cocktail bar and restaurant. There were a couple of people working with their laptops out, and this appeared to be legit usage. I enjoyed the environment too, from the mural to the furniture and woodwork. Nice place to hang out.
I visited El Paso at weekend with some friends and overall it was a good experience. The food was really good but the thing that let it down a little was the service. It seemed to take a while before our drinks arrived and the waitress was already clearing plates from the table before we had all finished. It didn't seem as though the place was that busy that they needed to clear the tables as quickly as possible. Overall, a good experience but with better service I would upgrade it to Excellent.
Great food and tasty drinks been around for 17+ years and not hard to see why. the pork belly tacos are great and their hot dogs have a proper bite to them.
They also have a great basement space with DJ s on the weekends as well as other events like comedy and film nights during the week.
El Paso has a cool vibe and a good offering, easily one of the best venues in Shoreditch and well worth a look on a weekend night out.
A really nice setting for dinner. A lot of variety on the menu and very reasonable prices. Particularly recommend the fajitas. The staff are always attentive which makes for a pleasant experience. The set up is really cool which means it is a great place for a meal or even just a drink with friends.
Lovely place.
After visiting El Paso I must say I enjoyed the food, the vibe and found the staff to be great. A wide choice of drinks and tasty Tex Mex food.
I am sure to return and think it is worth popping in for a drink or bite. Five stars all the way.
I found this by chance when looking for alternative spot for brunch and was pleasantly surprised. On an initial glance it looks quite studious but once entering the restaurant i found it warm and inviting, the mismatched furniture and painted walls were authentic and gave a real identity to the restaurant
Brunch was scrumptious. I had egg crumpets which was El Paso's take on french toast with bacon and syrup - YUM! This was followed by banana pancakes with a side of butterscotch sauce and two pots of tea.
I could have stayed here all day, next time I'm bringing my laptop ( acceptable in this establishment) and not leaving.
Did I forget...
Excellent value for money - about £14 for all of the above
Excellent service - both ladies were sweet, funny and friendly
Fantastic.
The staff are friendly and attentive, but will leave you be once you have what you want. The decore is excellent, with a combination of bespoke looking furnishings and original features. Free wifi and great menue, huge bay windows for plenty of light. Big tables and firm comfortable seats with plug sockets available at most stations for lap tops/ phones. If you want more privacy you can opt out of the open plan down stairs and head up to the private booths.
I only had a tea, but it was served as it should be and in good time. I cant wait to come back and try the food and other beverages.
Really solid restaurant and bar for Tex Mex food, cocktails, and other drinks. Nice atmosphere that is great for going out with friends and the service is great. Food is affordable with a really diverse menu.
Really good burritos and fajitas, and very good value for its location. Reasonable priced bar too, one of the cheaper places in area to get a pint.
Very nice place to have breakfast. I really liked the Chocolate Brownie. The music was really nice and the decoration is great.
