Went for late dinner last night and was amazed at the quality of the food. The brand new (not even on on the menu yet) mini-tortillas and chicken wings to start were exceptional. For the main courses we had 2 outstanding enchiladas, an ok pizza and a very good steak (it's no Hawksmoor but you shouldn't be expecting that from a Camden bar for £12)... the only negative was the decidedly average and over-salted chips. Add in the attentive staff, decent 2 for 1 cocktails and the fact that the Friday evening music wasn't too loud to stop dinner conversation, and we all left thinking we'd probably had one of the best £ for £ meals you can find in London.
I was there once some months ago at night for some drinks. Then I actually did not like it too much. Now I was there for dinner, and the food was good - nothing special, but really good for a fair price and definitely a nicer experience than the Spanish restaurant the next door. The barman was really friendly - so the staff is a big plus.
What was also better than at many other places was the music with a strong 90s touch. Well, that might depend on your mood. Sometimes you like listening to some 90s hits, sometimes not. But as I liked it, this made my stay at this place mor enjoyable.
Ignore the previous reviews regarding handing coats etc in at the door as this doesn't exist. I was a little apprehensive reading those reviews but shouldn't have worried. Staff were friendly, helpful and the drinks and food were excellent...
