Best coffee in New Cross! I've been coming here off and on for the past three years, and it's just a lovely oasis. Their diverse all-day English breakfast options are suitable for vegetarians as well as carnivores like me. I always bring guests here, and it's the only place I bother getting take-away coffee. Also the people who run it are really sweet. Highly recommend.

Lovely cafe, has a huge range of meals and sandwiches starting from breakfast to burgers and jacket potatoes, really delicious coffee, always fresh and tasty food. Had a little misunderstanding last time but we solved it very quickly, both ( guy and a young girl) tried very hard to resolve the issue, I really liked it for trying really hard. They're great workers and very kind people. About a minute away from New Cross Gate station, right next to a side road which is free parking. It's literally a perfect location! Reasonable prices for the amount of food you get.
Have come here irregularly for years while I'm in New Cross. Super friendly staff, good selection of breakfasts, sandwiches and difference teas. Good value too.
Sometimes the lady gives me a capucino regardless of what I ordered but it's nice to have a change once in a while.
My wife and I stopped by because we wanted to experience an authentic English Breakfast being from the US and all. So Good! Also their coffee is great! Only £4.50 for their #2 you can't find that any where!! The owners were so kind! I hope we can come back again soon!
Fantastic little local cafe with reasonable prices. A friendly, relaxed vibe off the hustle and bustle of New Cross Road. I've only had the breakfast type meals here and have always enjoyed them. There are a few vegetarian set menus and you can ask for veg substitute with the others.
Very friendly I’m a regular customer and the owner remembers my order every time I come in. Very good service
Lovely little cafe in New Cross where you can get handmade sandwiches, coffee, or a really cheap full english all day. Have been there a few times for breakfast (got a full english and an americano for 5.20 or something) and also have used them to order bulk sandwiches for small events at Goldsmiths. Very reliable and the food they prepared was quite fresh. Decor is alright, but it's somewhere to eat in South London where you don't have to pay the 'cool tax'. Staff are friendly and feels like money well spent after eating there. Highly recommend for utilitarian eating purposes!
The first restaurant to open in London, dining at The Rising Sun is not only a luxury, but a spiritual and educational experience. With Ozzy you will receive the intimate portrait of a man who has achieved the impossible despite never pursuing his dream as a plumber. There is something here for everyone, romance, intrigue, and drama. In many ways, Rising Sun is characteristic of the earnestness in which we must approach the modern media in a post truth society.
Superb service from the magnificent duo, Ozzy and Zainab. Despite it's hugely varied clientele (ranging from Goldsmiths hipsters to businessmen and builders), Rising Sun has proven again and again its robust versatility. There's something for everyone here, and I'm not just talking about food and drink; if you're feeling lonely, Ozzy and Zainab can accommodate that with their uplifting presence.
Remember to tip well so that I can still have the occasional mocha on the house.
The 5 piece breakfast is a monster and excellent value
