The Warrant Officer is in the process of a gradual refurb and I'm fairly sure lots of people are waiting for the kitchen to open as the expectations of a great menu with delicious food are high! I went to an Open Mic Night held on the last Sunday of each month and run by Rentertainment UK A good vibe, some great music, extensive choice of drinks available, pool table, darts board, and a nice garden area. Check it out, I doubt you'll be disappointed

Amazing, friendly little pub on the outskirts of the town centre, with a fantastic range of various spirits and liqueurs as well as craft lagers and ales all at reasonable prices. Great live music too. Also one of the few places left with darts and pool! Looking forward to the kitchen opening

Came in here for a post jog pint. Even though we looked gross, the bar staff were friendly and welcoming - even tipping out our pints to make sure our much needed refreshment was perfect. We didn't even ask! Lovely beer garden. Lucky to have it all to ourselves in the beginning of spring :)

A nice local, with good ales served in great condition. The pool table is excellent, the company congenial and I am only sorry that the kitchen was out of order on the night I visited, so I never got to try the food. I look forward to remedying this omission on a future date

Drawn to it by an advertised beer festival, The Warrant Officer is a newly renovated bar and microbrewery situated in a quiet suburban area – an odd spot, though it seems to have not upset the neighbours. The place definitely has a bit of everything to expect from a traditional bar – pool tables, darts and a fireplace – with a beer garden and live music. The microbrewery's most popular craft beer – the Jack of Clubs – is a flavoursome amber ale equipped with its own playing card necklace. The beer festival held inside was lively – with a Scottish marching band blasting away – and the staff both knowledgeable and friendly. If it weren't so distant, I'd be more of a frequent visitor – I am hopeful to find outlets selling the Jack of Clubs.

I have lived in the Higham Hill area for the last 4 years and in that time this pub has undergone a massive transformation. It has 2 nice beer gardens, a micro brewery ("Wild Card" Ale), it hosts pop-up restaurants and has the odd beer festival/live music etc. It's improvement emulates the progression of the demographic in the Walthamstow area and I envisage that it will continue this trend whilst the intake of young professionals with disposable income grows. It's not yet what I would call a "family pub" as strong views (and sometimes language) still linger from a few "hangers on" from the typical East End days of old. However it is a very pleasant, clean and bright environment with decently priced beer. I am quite excited (as it is my local) to see how the pub will progress. I hear a rumour that regular food is on the horizon, but the pork scratchings will do me just fine in the meantime. I recommend a visit.

Based on a friend's recommendation re their micro-brewery, we went along for Sunday lunch here. We found good food reasonably priced, good ale and very friendly staff. There's a pool table, dart board, beer garden - everything you would look for in a local. Furthermore, The Warrant Officer seems to be evolving into a local community hub (a hub-pub?), hosting W.I. meetings and taking part in the "Words Over Waltham Forest" festival.

Great place for me and my friends to go. We go there and chill. They don't do food here but they don't mind us getting food and eating it there. All staff are really lovely.
