For years this Camberwell pub was my local and I visited most nights. A falling out with the landlady led me to go elsewhere. But I have visited a few times recently and it is still an attractive pub. However the cask ale selection is uninspiring and I am more likely to go across the road to the Stormbird.

Warm and attentive bar staff, plus they serve Murphy's on tap (a rare treat in London!)

Relaxed pub with an old timer behind the bar. Reasonable choice of drinks, good for a leisurely daytime catch up with a mate.

The Hermits Cave is a proper old fashioned boozer. Good beer no frills service with a smile. Irish run but this pub is for everyone, Brendan has run this place efficiently for years and years. Not plush, basic and good value. Good luck parking, best go by bus.

Great place for a quite drink. Typical English pub with the regular clientèle holding up the bar. Decent selection of beers and guest ales. Good location and not heaving like the other pubs surrounding the green. No bells or whistles just a good old fashioned boozer.

Perfect place for a quiet drink on a cold and wet evening. The pub was busy with people scrambling for seats but it had an 'old fashioned knees-up' kind of vibe to it - I bet its a good one on a Saturday/New Year. The bar staff were lovely as other comments might suggest differently but it would have been nice if they had something other then BBC News 24 on the TV all night - you don't want to be constantly reminded how grim everything is on a Friday night pub visit. Lovely place, definitely recommend it
