The Village Tap

I came to this pub after a stormzy event finished in Victoria park on Friday, the staff here are just something else!!! Kind, considerate and just all round wonderful human beings! When first arriving in the pub I went to the bar to order drinks, my bank card kept declining and I realised I needed to transfer from one account to another and just at that moment my phone died and I could not transfer, the boss who was serving me was very kind and told me not to worry and let me have the drinks. Then suddenly I was seperated from my 18 year old son and had a dead phone, no funds available, couldn’t order a cab, hotel over an hour away in walking, sheer panic set upon me, a young man who worked the bar saw the horror on my face and stress and approached me, he consoled me, took my phone, charged it up for me, whilst it charging he kept checking in on me to make sure I was ok and then gave me my phone with some battery, I was then able to pay for the drinks, call my son and get a cab to my hotel.This young man really saved my skin that night, his kind and caring nature I won’t forget! The staff in this pub and just beautiful and kind human beings! Thank you so much for your kindness towards a girl in need! You have a lovely pub and that rum went down a treat! Thank you! When I return to London I will return back to the pub! Please send my thank you to that young man who helped me! You are an angel!

Great pizza. Pay attention, do not expect a Neapolitan pizza. They make a thinner and more crunchy pizza which is typical of many areas of Italy and it is spot on. Very digestible,light, with fresh ingredients. Staff is always welcoming and kind and they have great beers too. It’s nice and cosy. One of my favourite pubs in the area.

Really enjoyed this place. Pub situated in such a cool spot on corner in a cool area of London, close to Victoria Park… You can sit and chill with table service as we did or just order normally yourself in other seating areas in pub. The staff that served us were great - friendly, fun and relaxed whilst efficient at the same time. The food was excellent too and catered to my friends Vegan diet as well. Pizzas were tasty and well cooked. Some excellent beers on menu- Voodoo Ranger was a great beer and would recommend. And the Nutella pizza was divine! Definitely recommend. :)
