One of my favourite restaurants in London!
I tried most of their items! Bhuna khichuri, Chatpati & Beef Karai are my favourite dishes!!!
:)
Excellent traditional food and friendly atmosphere.
The best restaurant in London where you can find the authentic Bengali cuisine. Quite friendly environment to enjoy. Specially Morog Pilaw and Vhuna Khichuri.. really delicious. Price is very much reasonable.
Definately authentic Bangladeshi cuisine. Their chotpoti is delicious and their byriani is amazing! They only take cash when we went, there's an ATM right next to the restaurant so wasn't a problem.
I’m eating around the world without leaving London and this week I had Bangladeshi food at Kolapata. No, I didn’t go to Brick Lane as I wanted something a little bit more authentic, even though I like hanging around Brick Lane and its Bangladeshi restaurants, but it is also incredibly busy. And I was also a bit worried that the food at these places have been tailored to British palates somewhat.
Kolapata is where Bangaldeshi film maker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki goes to eat when he visits London. It’s where my friend’s mum said she had the best elish in town. It is also the only restaurant that will get my postcode snob companion to take three trains to a meal. We took all these as positive signs and ordered.
Possibly the best Bangladeshi/Bengali restaurant in London. They sell authentic Bengali dishes using Bengali ingredients. Must try the fish, haleem and biryani to get a taste of what Bengalis eat for lunch and dinner. Also try the famous street food fosca (panipuri, or phuchka) for starters. No frills!
No frills delicious Bengali food! Good place to explore if you ever wanted to know about the subtle differences in south Asian regional cuisines.
The service is excellent as there are usually more waiters than guests. Its an excellent place to try a Bangladeshi style biriyani or khichri with fish curry and enough sweets to take your sweet tooth to disneyland.
On the upside, it is not very spice as its Indian and Pakistani counterparts. Its relatively easy on the wallet and does not overpower you with the curry fragrance once you leave.
This place is blends in with the rest of the shops, but OMG their food is amazing. The service is fantastic. Never have I felt so welcomed in a shop before. I have been to quite a lot of Asian restaurants - but this has over exceed my expectations.
Delicious food, wonderful service and if you can, get their watermelon juice. It's fresh, sweet, fragrant; and their deserts - amazing. Obviously, I'm going to have Kulfi, because it's my favourite but next time I will try a different one.
I can't remember what I had but it wasn't filling. Seriously recommend this place.
* Just remembered - it was Fosca(delicious) and prawn corma with rice and peshwari naan - oh my it was filling.
Absolutely Love the khichri and the borhani. The only reason why i go there.
My experience with kolapata was very joyful. As when i ordered food i was a bit confused about the food taste but,wow..all the vorta and curry i ordered it feels like i am in Bangladesh and feels like মায়ের হাতের খাবার।also affordable.
i am gonna come very often to feel the vibe again.
###also the service is also very good and they are very friendly.
Excellent customer service and ample food The meal's quality and amount are superb when compared to those at other Whitechapel eateries. You can certainly bring your family, and if you want to try Bangladeshi cuisine, you should go here.
My friends and I had limited experience with Bengali cuisine but staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. Generous portions and flavours were immense. Great value for money as well.
A piece of Bangladesh in the heart of London <3. Ahmazing khichuri and an incredible tea! Highly recommended. Please visit for a taste of Bangladesh :)
We are regular customer and stuff are very friendly specially Anik bhai . We tried most od the menu and each items are delicious .One of the Best Bangladeshi restaurant in london. 💜🇧🇩
Amazing bangla food. Authentic to Bangladeshi cuisine. No indian style pretentious food. Had morog polao, elish bhaja, bhorta and cha. Cha and bhortas are out of the world. The waiters are so polite, food came quickly.
I had their milk tea and it was amazing. Also I tried their fuchka and halim... everything was really delicious.. I highly recommend their food if anyone is looking for authentic Bangladeshi food.
And also their service and behaviour is really friendly and polite... I loved their service.
One of the best Bangladeshi Restaurants in London, located near Whitechapel to Rail station. The foods in this restaurant are very tasty. If you want to enjoy authentic Bangladeshi foods i will highly recommend this restaurant.
A real taste of Bangladeshi food. Loved their delicious Beef Bhuna Khichuri and Milk Tea after having meal. They are so cordial.
The food was fantastic. We had the fried Ruhi mach and bhortas and daal. The atmosphere was really relaxed. A lot of the artwork is done by the chef! We took a picture with one of them, my favourite one. Highly recommended for Bangladeshi food in London.
