Baan Thai

It's probably the worst Thai I have ever had. I ordered a delivery of a soup and a green curry. To be fair, it didn't take as long as other reviews say but when it arrived I wish it hadn't... The soup was edible but pretty bad and the green curry, as soon as I opened the pack it smelled horrible and I only had to have half a spoon to realise I could not eat it. It tasted as if it had been burnt together with a horrible and strong taste of plastic. I called them to say and to be fair they offered to send a new one, not without saying that they had been "19 years in business". The new one was edible but still horrible. I certainly won't be going or ordering from this place again...

"Sticky rice" arrived in a bag as one gelatinous lump, 1/4 of a decent portion size with an extra helping of a long hair weaving through it. Green curry was made up of obvious ready frozen veggies from a shop. Would give 0 stars if possible, we ended up chucking all of the food in the bin and ordering from some place less hell bent on ruining the reputation of Thai food.

Worst service ever!!! We had to wait almost half hour for our main meals. Once it arrived, my prawn salad had no prawns at all. When asked, the waiter looked "unsurprised" and mentioned he had prawns. He took the plate and after 5 minutes returned with the same plate, no prawns again!!?? I rejected to take it or any other meal, however, the waiter did not apologize or look impressed at all with my reaction and anger.

THIS IS ONE OF THE WORST PLACES IN BRIXTON! I have left this review for a few days, as I was shocked at how bad it was. The Staff - and owner - if you can call him that - are so rude that I won't be going back. On top of that the takeaway I ordered - and arranged to pick up 15 minutes later - wasn't done when I arrived - they had forgotten. So they rushed it in 3 minutes. Then made the worst Pad Thai I've ever had. I threw it away. Also because my purchase came to only £5.50 they said i would have to pay cash. £10 minimum. Unfortunately for them merchants accepting Visa or MasterCard credit or debit cards are not allowed to set a minimum amount for using the card; that is a violation of the merchant agreement. And I told them so. They didn't like that. There are SO many better places in Brixton to eat, until they apologize and vastly improve their [non] service - I would say look around and find somewhere else. It makes me sad to say it - but its one of the worst restaurants in Brixton, and thats saying something.

Really awful sevice. I ordered online and received a confirmation. An hour later I called to enquir why my order hadn't arrived yet and was told they didn't receive it. After some faffing about they discovered that they HAD in fact received it but hadn't started it so it would take another 40 minutes to deliver and they wouldn't offer any discount because it 'wasn't their fault'. The food I waited the best part of 2 hours for was pretty average. Wont order from here again.
