My favourite market in this area! Always go there on Saturdays to buy bread at Little Bread Peddlar. The butcher and ice-creams shop also very good. It is not cheap but you are paying for really fresh and organic products, as well supporting local businesses, so totally worth it!

Great market (open only on Saturdays around 9-10a to around 3p - but most stuff runs out before then, esp at the little bread peddled where there's great pastries but expect a line). Be sure to visit both sides of the railway and walk all the way up and down the railway as there are gems all the way up to Maltby & Greek and the Wild Room beyond to the green grocers at the other end, with coffee, Granola, olive oil and jams on the other side of the arch. It's not cheap and outside of the pastries and ice cream there's nothing to eat "on the go", but you can always take stuff and picnic in nearby Spa Gardens!

Hidden gem! Same producers as in Borough Market and other busy places, yet much more remote and quiet. Little Bread Peddler (who distributes all over London) has great breads and pastries that change regularly. Also recommend Ice Cream Union and alll their neighbours!

Open only Saturdays this place offer the possibility to shop for the best meat, cheese, amazing bread and pastries , great charcuterie from Italy, beer and honey all sold by diverse and passionate producers. One great, honest and real spot for food in London.

Best market I have ever been to - fresh fruit and vegs (from Italy and Mediterranean countries), butcher, cheese...you name it. We go there every Saturday morning. A hidden gem

Great atmosphere! Open on the weekends with stalls from independant businesses etc. Very busy all the time, great food and drinks. A good place to spend the afternoon with some friends. Few bars on ropewalk (Maltby street) are open during the week until 10pm

One of the best places in London to get amazing food direct from the producers. Includes; The Butchery, Kernel Brewery, Ham & Cheese Company, Neal's Yard Dairy, The London Honey Co, Little Bread Peddler & Coleman Coffee Roasters

Excellent Veg, Great for cheese, butchers, charcuterie, patisserie, olives, wine, coffee and more. Why go to the supermarket when you can have a much more pleasant morning here to start the weekend

How has it taken me so long to find out about Spa Terminus?! I mean, I LOVE food markets, but this one just seemed to slip past my radar! Nestled amongst the railway arches in Bermondsey, this place is a foodie lovers heaven. I met a friend there one Saturday morning, and she just happens to be a Bermondsey local, so she knew her way around Spa Terminus like a pro. And was on first name basis with all the vendors, due to doing her fruit and veggie shopping there each weekend, because it’s A. Organic and B. SO MUCH CHEAPER than the supermarket! Spa Terminus is made up of a bunch of different food manufacturers selling wholesale during the week and with many of them opening their doors to retail customers on Saturday morning too. You’ll find everything from fruit and veg, to cheese, to ice cream and coffee. It’s a treasure trove of deliciousness! We started our foodie journey with a peek around England Preserves. Rows and rows of jams and preservers lined the shelves and it was making me hungry for some toast! What I couldn’t believe was the short line at our next stop, Monmouth Coffee. The very same Monmouth Coffee where you and I have been guilty of standing in its queue for 30 minutes, over in Borough Market. This secret little gem, has no waiting time, and it makes you feel seriously smug thinking of all those poor punters standing outside at Borough, probably bursting for a wee, but refusing to get out of the Monmouth never-ending coffee queue. The London Honey Co had more variety of honey than I even knew existed! Their honey is produced from bees in London and around the UK. Comptoir Gourmand, a French patisserie company were displaying the prettiest pastries and macarons in a rainbow of colours. Sadly I didn’t try one on this occasion, but I’ll add that to the taste test list on my next visit. We popped into Natoora, who are the Kings of fruit and veg, and the colours of their produce in their store was unbelievable. We wandered in and out of the all the stores, and I was already planning my purchases for my return trip. And the best bit, when Spa Terminus closes for the day, Druid and Maltby Street Markets are just around the corner for more food indulgence!
