This cafe is wonderful. It has saved my life so many times this summer when I was heavily pregnant and needed to take out my other kids. The park is lovely and then the cafe has a nice range of reasonably priced food, lovely coffee but a huge range of toys and such a welcoming atmosphere. Joy the owner is a beautiful person and very kind. And now it’s colder it’s just great for me to take the family there and feed y babe while the other kids and we have lunch. Highly recommend.
Kukoolala hosted my son's 4th birthday party, who was treated to a space-themed extravaganza! The cafe was decorated beautifully with hand-made rocket garlands and space-themed food, including star- and rocket-shaped sandwiches, alien jellies and rocket fruit-kebabs. The children underwent 'astronaut training' and were awarded certificates at the end. They dressed paper astronauts, hunted for moon rocks, raced balloon rockets and so much more. There were glitter and confetti-filled eggs for the egg and spoon race, a hand-made piñata and a massive cardboard rocket for photo opportunites. The children ran around in jet-packs (again, hand-made) and had a whale of a time. I am not exaggerating when I say it was probably the best day of our son's life! Kukoolala asked us a few questions about what sort of things our son liked and then went to town on the decorations, food and activities. We paid a little extra for the latter but it was well worth it. After the party, we were able to burn off the sugar rush in Leyton Jubilee park. It was a wonderful event and we would like to thank Joy and the staff for making our little boy's dream party. We would highly recommend this place to others - you just won't get better value for your money and they will do any theme your child likes. They just love making children happy - I can't imagine they turn much of a profit! Please support this magical place. It really is a treasure.
It is not just a cafe it's actually a place where you can do community get together. I have been using the room upstairs and the owner Joy is a beautiful soul. We used it to meet
Book club/Qur'an club every Tuesday morning and for coffee mornings every Friday. I cannot express my gratitude enough. Thanks for the opportunity.
Free parking for up to 3 hours and the best walking woodland within minutes
Been here to do facepainting for a party and loved the venue !! Wonderful space on the back with tent just incase rain too !!! Parking also available
Cafe is amazing! Staff are amazing and sweet, extremely helpful and polite. They use great manners and ensure everyone has a great morning, afternoon and rest of the day!!
Love this place so much. Such a gem of a community cafe. Great food for the price and really appreciate you trying to be as inclusive as possible with your prices and resources. Also so rare to find a business that puts people before profit in that you give free lunches to those who need it and are always trying to find ways to combat loneliness etc. thank you. Only minor criticism is that it gets really stuffy in there, which you don’t notice when you’re in there but can be a bit off putting when you enter.
Edit 07/23: prices have now gone up 20%ish so a flat white is £3.30- artisan prices for definitely non-artisan coffee! This used to be my go-to for cheap but cheerful fare, but now it’s not cheap so doesn’t offer good value for money. £1.60 for a babycino is a joke. Literally nowhere does that!!
This is a great cafe, good food, service and customers. And the icing on the cake, once a month they have a free entry pay what you want comedy night featuring some of the best up and coming comedians on the london and surrounding circuit hosted by a funny woman called Lizanne who drives a dust cart for the council (not during the gig, there's no space). True story.
Right by the parking for Leyton Jubilee park. Friendly staff and refreshments. Incredibly clean toilets. Highly recommended
It had been raining when we went, so it was quiet, had carrot cake, it tasted lovely.
Convenient and family friendly cafe! Very clean, especially the toilets (and they're so kind letting any kids playing at the park to use them).
Great value for money, I was surprised to pay such prices in a London cafe.
There is a big box of toys and a window full of children's books. The staff are not at all phased by baby messes or accidents or noise, so feel free to bring all the kids.
They support so many community groups so I'd highly recommend you support them in the cafe so they can continue to do so. Thank you for having us
