Papa Johns Pizza

At this branch the pizza was good. I added extra cheese as I had quite a few big toppings with the Chicken Club pizza I ordered. So - I needed enough Mozzarella to cover the slices. The UK versions do not have the saucy American style that defined them. That’s difficult to recreate. We are living in a different era and country now. The pizza isn’t oily - the toppings are cooked and taste as it should do. The medium is a good size for me - I usually eat a few slices then save the rest for the following day. It is still edible for me to do this. The potato tots remind me of when we used to sell potato crunchies in this part of the globe. I ordered the bacon and cheese - I‘ve been trying to lesson the red meat in my diet - so this was a one off - personally I didn’t really like it with the bacon - therefore with my next purchase a few weeks later I bought tots with 4 cheese. That was better. However, the cheese tasted a bit caramelised in a very milky way - clearly it’s cheese - so it’s not unheard of it being ‘milky’, but with cheesy dishes at take outs there is more of a heated salty touch to it. With these tots and 4 cheese it was more ‘milky’ - which I didn’t really like. With these cheese inflicted tots haha - you have to expect it to be mashy as everything is hot and melted. Tots are like Hash Browns in the way they can break apart with the culmination of potato parts making it what it is as a whole tater. Overall - I enjoyed my meal and will order again if the time feels right. Please take a look at my visuals for your own judgment before ordering. Hopefully it helps!

Never ever had issues with past orders, expect today, a wrong pizza was delivered, phoned the store the guy on the phone instantly knew the issue and offered to have my pizza remade and throw in a dessert, was delivered 15 minutes later hot out of the oven, Fantastic response to my issue and customer service! 👏 Thanks again

I ordered from Surbiton for home delivery this evening. I had to phone the restaurant as am anaphylactic. Just eat from any orders are slow and last weekend didn’t even turn up (completely different restaurant). The man who answered the phone was very polite and worked out the solution before I had told him!! The pizza was very fresh and delicious. Perfect attention to detail. I’m sure he cleaned the area and used clean equipment (like you are meant to if someone is anaphylactic). Excellent delivery time and polite driver who knew where to find me. WELL DONE 😎

Always friendly staff esp the manager (?) who just jumped out from behind the counter to help me with the door and my buggy, and should there be short waiting times staff always apologise etc. Didn’t expect that from a chain as I usually prefer independent restaurants but lots of them don’t cater for vegans (apart from vegetable pizza without cheese). Very happy about all the new vegan options at Papa John‘s!

Papa Johns saved the day today as we ordered some food from a delivery service which failed to deliver even after giving an estimate of 2 hours and then still didn't deliver...We eventually cancelled the order (we were VERY hungry by this stage) and ordered a papa instead- The pizza arrived after half an hour, wonderfully tasty and hot and delivered by a very polite man. 5 star service! 👍
