One of the best fish and chips takeaways I've ever come across and would not go any where else. Not sure why the reviews are low but everything about this place is amazing . Cooked hot food not burnt not underdone arrives fast. Great amount given . Would highly recommend this one over any other ones locally

I’m amending my review, I’ve been your customer for many years now and I think that 1 time we were unhappy was an isolated incident. We have since been back because the fish and chips are quality and can’t fault them, even though previously was unhappy about the portion like I said - I think it was a busy time and possibly not intentional - and this time the portion was very generous and well worth the money spent. As it always was - before that 1 time. Fresh and authentic English fish and chips at its best esp when you have a craving from an entire day of fasting. Food is great and everything has been redeemed. Still a returning customer!
Harry edwards young male worker had terrible attitude and no respect to customers! He also ruined my order putting wrong items and small amount of chips also I asked for a sausage and he said he has a special and pulled his Willy out will be coming back again has a nice sausage
Great proper chippie, not any other shop which happens to sell fish. I always have the plaice, which I am reliably informed takes 8 minutes to cook. Fresh and delicious with proper chips up to this Essex girl's standard. Yummy and a loyalty card too!!
The fish and chips ordered was very nice and really tasty. The only problem and its not the shops fault, is that parking on the high street is really difficult, and you get the scumbags smoking near your car when you are carrying food, and you don't want smoke going near you or the food, very disrespectful. Its the area but nothing to do with the shop. Churchills takes good pride in their fish and chips.
Good price and great portion size
Brilliant food. Nick went the extra mile for us on Saturday as we had a family get together for our anniversary. Impossible to eat out so we ordered 14 meals which were delivered bang on time and piping hot. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food. The portions are huge! I would point out I ordered by popping in the shop and didn't use just eat

Bought a medium cod small chips which were served in an eco-friendly card tray wrapped in paper with a heavy duty paper bag. No styrofoam packing here.
The fish batter was light and crispy and the proper size chips fried to the perfect crunch.
Friendly staff and fast service rounded the whole experience off perfectly.
They are a bit out of the way for me, but will definitely stop by again.
