Fantastic food and cocktails. They made a mistake with the dishes but sorted it really quickly with no fuss and even gave us an extra dish. We will be back it's an ideal place to meet with friends for a catch-up! Check out the happy hour cocktail offers if your after a decent drink after work.
We have lunch here every week. Love this place; the food, the service. Can't recommend it highly enough

Starting the year as I mean to go on with another restaurant visit to share. Totally been foodie-ing up my January – for good reason though, as late last year I got my hands on a Tastecard – offering either 50% off or 2-for-1 on loads of restaurants across the country. After browsing my options on the handy app, I decided that Spain was calling, and we answered with a ‘date night’ trip to tapas bar and restaurant Salvador & Amanda – with 50% off the total food bill. Tapas is one of my favourite ways to eat – I love trying a mixture of different dishes, and find the ‘family style’ way of sharing plates and eating dinner super-relaxed for casual dining.
Salvador and Amanda is a Spanish restaurant focussing on tapas. It has more of a bar like informal environment. There are small booth sections on the raised levels. The little white washed alcoves have cushioned seating and small buffets. Even though the seating was supposed to feel quite relaxing, it was difficult to get comfortable.
Flamenco Dancing? Sangria? Spanish Tapas? The Salvador and Amanda restaurants in London offer a great, affordable London dining experience.
Thursday night was my third visit to one of their two restaurants. That sure counts for something, right?
Mr. Sunny and I have been to both the Covent Garden and the Bloomsbury locations. This is why I suggested Salvador and Amanda to my ultra cool blogger buddy Kings Road Rocks for our recent catch-up dinner date.
So, was the third time also a charm? Let’s go further back in time to figure it out…
Salvador and Amanda- Bloomsbury Location:
One night in January, Mr. Sunny and I visited Salvador and Amanda’s Bloomsbury restaurant. We had been to the Covent Garden restaurant a year before and absolutely loved it. We were excited to see the menu was nearly identical. However, since the previous year’s trip was pre-blog days, I don’t have any pictures to share from that first night.
Until now, I never even mentioned my January experience because it was one of my first food blogging attempts.
Some of the dishes you get there are Pulpo ‘A La Gallega’ con Alcaparras (Galician style octopus with capers and smoked paprika) Carrilleras de Cerdo con pure de patatas y mostaza (Braised pork cheeks with mustard mash) and Calamares.
We thought the restaurant had a vibrant atmosphere, but the actual lighting is very low.
Aside from the above mentioned dishes, we ordered our standard red wine and beer.
Mr. Sunny picked the Seleccion de Jamon, Chorizo y Queso (selection of Serano ham, chorizo and cheeses) for us. I always let him order for me because he knows so much about food. And we really loved the Albondigas en Salsa de Tomate (Spanish meatballs in a rich tomato sauce).
Similar to our first trip, we saved tons of money with our Tastecard because Salvador and Amanda offers such amazing deals. However, we left thinking that our first dining experience at the restaurant’s Covent Garden location was a bit better.
The other night I was invited along to a media dinner at Salvador & Amanda, the restaurants new Bloomsbury location.
Considering the launch was the night before, I was surprised to see such an overwhelming crowd enjoying after work drinks and tapas at the bar.
I was ushered through the bustling crowd and made my way upstairs to the much calmer setting of Restaurant Cadaqués. A dimly lit room with tables set for two and a romantically set long table for our twelve person dinner.
We all found our place cards and chatted away about the restaurants background as we gazed at a stunning picture of Cadaqués hanging over the table. The restaurant is appropriately named after Salvador Dali and his muse, Amanda and serves tapas influenced by the region of Catalonia that he often visited.
After a cocktail reception, the table was then served a series of tapas for us all to share made by the incredibly talented Chef Rubén Dario Estrella.
First we tasted Jamon Iberico ‘Pata Negra’ which is hand carved, acorn fed Iberico ham on the bone from Jabugo which had been cured for 36 months.
This was exquisite and was served with salted Marcona almonds and bread with pure Spanish olive oil.
The perfect taste of Spain to set the mood.
We were then served a salad of chicory, walnuts, pear, blue cheese and an acidic dressing to tie the sharp and sweet flavours together.
Next were handpicked crab and chili croquettes. A crispy fried bite with a smooth, creamy filling of sweet crab meat was absolutely delicious.
After that, we were served sauteed wild mushrooms with garlic and a poached, free range egg. This was delicious and incredibly morish.
Next up, Cornish scallops with cauliflower puree and raisins. These were cooked to perfection and had a drizzle of aged balsamic to really enhance the sweet flavours of the puree and raisins.
Our last tapas was certainly not least.
Chorizo Lollipops with quince aioli.
Pieces of chorizo which had been battered and fried were skewered to be dipped in a quince aioli.
Crunchy batter, salty chorizo and sweet quince aioli were a divine creation that gave a whole new meaning to the word lollipop.
After our series of shared tapas came our main.
Roast Suckling pig served with new potatoes and broccoli.
The pig was cooked to perfection. The new potatoes and broccoli were tender, yet crunchy and had a sweet salty flavour to them.
Then came heaven.
I have had a lot of desserts in my life and it is very rare that I stumble across a pudding that makes me say, “Wow.”
But this chocolate fondant with coffee ice cream and candied almonds made me exclaim in pure delight WOW!
Silky, creamy chocolate mousse guarded a cold, liquid coffee ice cream centre. With each bite there was a sweet crunch of candied almond.
Dessert perfection, gracias!
It was a decent restaurant and lovely selection of tapas. It was very clubby downstairs but it wasn’t quieter upstairs. It has a nice vibe and staff are friendly. It even has tastecard offers so it was a bonus! I’d come back. The squid ink rice was amazing. It did remind me of Spain!
Amazing food! The quality of the food is unavailable.
Simple, enjoyed by all dishes! Happy hour is until 9pm so we were able to enjoy this massive martini for only 15£.
Everything is reasonably priced, portions are in tapas style so we had to pick a few dishes for the table. They have different themed nights like flamenco live music and dancers. We went on the DJ night and the music was a mix of reggeton and hip hop.
It was actually good fun as there was tones of dancing and no judgement if you were not a skilled dancer!
Would definitely go back! 5 stars ⭐
very good restaurant we went on a quiet night, latina music on the background which is really nice go to with some tapas. the staff was really helpful advising us on what to order, we went for some of the chef's specialities and some of the more traditional tapas. Really enjoyed, on busiest nights pretty sure that has a great environment! Def will go back.
Get the groupon deal if it's still going, definitely a steal. Great tapas, thoroughly enjoyed the food. Played mainstream music at the bar downstairs. Will most likely return.
We went with a Taste card, took advantage of happy hour with a £12 bottle of wine and £12 bucket of beers, as well as a free drink. So many dishes between 4 of us, a lot of booze, and the bill was tiny! The service was excellent, very attentive staff, and a good ambience. Would definitely go back.
Marvelous place and gorgeous service . I would like to give it 10********** if I can.
Great place to have a small tasty tapas bite with friends around cocktails. The Tuesday the happy hour is until 8 o'clock. The atmosphere is quite nice with the possibility to book a sitting spot
Amazing food, amazing live flamenco dancing and singing and great tunes from DJ when they stop serving and clear the tables away for dancing. Staff go out of their way to make guests happy, even the bouncers are great!
Well, my friends and I had a wonderful evening, made even better by both staff members that took care of us.
The food was a true taste of Spanish flavours and ingredients and we could have easily eaten more!
Top that with the fact my friend had a taste card, our meal was an amazing value! Our fave tapas place was Jamon Jamon but now Salvador and Amanda have knocked them off the top spot. So thank you to the team for making a girls night out even better :-)
An excellent feel of exotic ambience. Superlative serving team with a massive range of cocktails. The homemade touch of food makes me a regular goer. Ignore the critics and be there to see
