Very classy place with beautiful ambience.. polite staff and good quality food.. they support customization basis your need..
Must try if you are near by
Nice place to have lunch or afterwork drinks with colleagues. The food is good although a bit pricy. The space is cool and big, a bit noisy though.
I enjoyed my meal at the Anthologist. Service was excellent and one of the best burgers I have had in the UK. I liked the vibe of sharing a big table with others - it was cheerful and interesting. A good option for a tasty lunch.
The Anthologist bar and restaurant is tucked away near the gorgeous Guildhall, a Roman amphitheatre and a 17th century place of worship (the Lord Mayor of London’s official church). The area is steeped in history being the location of the great fire of London in 1666. Here you have an area where the old truly meets the new.
This is a solid after work celebration and party venue. If you want quiet and calm, this is not the place for you. After work guys and dolls line the street outside the venue when it is warm, but also the big bar area. The restaurant is full of groups having fun. Perhaps not best for a first date the latter part of the week, as the room is full of good looking singles. Too much temptation for a Tinder nation. The drinks are great, the food is good. The staff are a key element though, with gorg gals as you come in, a hot Bar Manager, a General Manager who is a bit of a sort and we had the pleasure of the Area Manager making an appearance, again lush. What is it with this co, is it part and parcel that you need to be appealing enough to appear on the menu too? Well as I am spoken for, I will let someone else select one of these dishes, but food and drink wise, a big yes for me. As the evening draws on, you get to enjoy some good sounds to throw some shapes to. Simple, harmless fun is what this Drake & Morgan establishment promises and delivers.
Mixed feelings about this.. The menu is interesting, but the ambience is very very hectic. Some staff know what they are doing, others don't have a clue. Kudos for the decoration though.
We recently had a team lunch at the London Anthologist Resturant on Gresham street. The Resturant setting itself was great. Very high ceilings make the room look even larger than it already is. The decor and finishings were gorgeous. The food overall was good. Nothing overly exciting or worth raving about, but good. I had a lamb pie. I was expecting the pie to be made from pastry, when in fact- it was made from potato. Perhaps my mistake. The wine was good, and service excellent. Overall, a great place for big groups in London's city centre.
MINE - quick, affordable, good quality city lunch. (Visit 21/5/10) Wonderful new addition to the City dining scene. We sat at the kitchen counter to watch the chefs at work - a well staffed & efficient team. We had a green pea and goats cheese risotto and chicken breast with pancetta, mushrooms and mascarpone - beautifully presented and tasted good. Service is smiley & quick; had we not prevaricated over the menu so long we would have easily been in & out within the hour. Attention to detail, quality, service, aesthetics and good pricing has pushed this right to the top of my favourite lunching spots.
Entering the chic bar I was initially disappointed as it seemed to be similar to The Refinery - all style and drinking and very little emphasis on food...
The Anthologist used to be my regular haunt for breakfast, lunch, coffee and drinks (not all at the same time) when I worked in St Paul's.
The main bar is my favourite part but I do avoid it like the plague on Thursday evenings - it gets too busy and too difficult to get a drink. That aside, the cocktails are great without being excessively exciting (not a bad thing). The wine selection at the bar is not bad. The bartenders are pretty friendly.
The breakfast fare is good - I like the menu for its diverse selection to cater for both the health-conscious and the hungover give-me-fried-food types.
I really like the decor and the vibe - it's upmarket without being pretentious.
The Anthologist is a place I often have a great experience at - whatever the occasion.
A real local treasure in the heart of the city. It's somewhere for local business people to meet, eat and drink during the week, as well as a vibrant, upbeat, buzzing bar and restaurant for anyone to frequent in the evening. Various different events happening over the weekend that keep the schedule interesting, make sure you look what's coming up and get a ticket. Couldn't be more complimentary of Tom, the GM as well as the events team including Eva and Zoe. A real pleasure to work with.
The Buck N Bull Country Brunch is also simply epic!!
I came down tonight with my family after my graduation - we somehow didn’t end up booking a table and it was 7 of us. Most of the guest at the table didn’t speak English so there was a little mix up with our order and the waitress that was serving our table was an absolute legend. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name in the end, but I hope that she will read this review and know what a superstar she was.
The steaks that we ordered were also really nice! - cut and cooked really nicely! X
It's a very cute place with a nice atmosphere, the lights were low, which made it a bit romantic, but it's a good place for groups as well. I booked this place for my birthday celebration with some friends. The service was a bit slow at first, but the stuff were very nice. The food and cocktails were good and not too pricey. In the booking I said it was my birthday and they surprised me with a brownie and sparklers, which was a nice gesture. I liked the place and I wouldn't mind to go back again.
Great interior, but the food is average from the set menu.
Squid starter didn't have much taste. Burger was ok, but I had much better burgers.
Went here the other day with friends and had a great experience. The staff were super friendly, and the food was great and good value to. Its got a lovely vibe to it. Also a big thank you to Emma, Nicole and
Paula for being great waitress. Will definitely be back.
Had Christmas dinner here. It was good. Food was as expected but seating arrangements were quite tight.
I didn't eat so can't comment on the food. I had two cocktails both were good and the wait at the bar wasn't too long. It's a very busy and loud bar but lots of seating. Hold on to your drinks however as for glass collector took mine when it was half finished and was gone before I could even stop him!
The atmosphere and look was amazing , my team was suitably impressed, especially as they had no idea where we were heading for our Christmas lunch. the service was great , a little slow, but it was the season . food looked fabulous and tasted great ( sausage needed a little more cooking time ).
We will return, thank you for an amazing time :)
Visited The Anthologist on Friday evening with a few friends & work colleagues, I must say the service was exceptional and the quality of the food & drinks was of a very high standard. Olga who was the individual serving us done a tremendous job and was very attentive. She also knew the drink menu very well and recommended some very nice drinks. Thank you Olga! We had a great night.
Large club, restaurant and bar, suitable for groups. The interior is classy and cozy 👍🏻
The staff is very friendly and professional 👍🏻
The snacks were good as well as the beer. However the Pilsner Urquell was missing the foam 🤷🏻♂️
