In all honestly I wasn't expecting much from a small hole in the wall located at the back of Spitalfields Market but I was happily proved wrong! The curried mutton was to die for - the perfect balance of spice and flavour. When eaten with the perfectly cooked rice and peas (which is hard to get right) it was simply amazing! Had a side of Mac & Cheese, which also was pretty decent. Would 10/10 recommend.
Food: Me and my friend got the Jamaican jerk chicken and the oxtail with beansand the former eclipsed the latter. The jerk chicken had an excellent amount of spice to it as well as the meat falling off the bone. It was made to perfection. The oxtail with beans were good, but unfortunately just didn't hit the heights that the jerk chicken did - that being said the oxtail was no slouch and the flavour was good albeit a bit salty. The fried chicken and plantains we ordered as well were both solid if unspectacular. Admittedly, we did get there 20 minutes after closing so seeing our food be microwaved as well as there having no sides was disappointing but very understandable from the perspective of the restaurant as we did enter after it officially closed. Service: The service was okay. Not the best but definitely not the worst. Atmosphere: hard to rank that as its part of Spitalfields Market. But the energy around the stall was good.
I got the beef stew that was piping hot. With a side of plantains which was warmed up before being handed to me. The crew are friendly and efficient. It is a small stall but they smoothly flow through the place. The food was really good and give you the energy to walk around the rest of the market and enjoy the day
