Great little place, friendly staff and the food was delicious.
Viet eat is on my way to lse everyday... and so when I had time for a relaxed lunch and not just take away.... I decided to give the place a shot! The olive fried rice was delicious... A burst of flavours...right amounts of olive leaves.... just enough egg to give it a flavour and not make it eggy... and lots of peppers. The staff is very corteous and gives u the right suggestions.
The outdoor vibe is nice, overlooking the hustle and bustle of Holborn's high street. Mostly a casual, office-going crowd with the occasional LSE student who feels like an upgrade from the usual fast food joints. I fall into the latter category here ;)
The pho was pleasantly authentic in its flavours and presentation. The prices were also decent for London and the portion was satisfying too. The service is a little slow, so it took them forever to get me a fork when I dropped mine, but barring that it's a good choice if you're in the Holborn area.
The summer rolls were quit fresh. Ive also enjoyed my pho noodles with prawns. We didn't had to wait long for the food either. Its conveniently quite close to the underground
The place is a small, so suggest a take away.
Corn fed chicken pho is something you can try to dabble @with Vietnamese. Soup+noodles. Cannot go wrong!

A small vietnamese restaurant in Holborn. My very first time here. Yummy baguette & Vietnamese ice coffe. I have ordered Spicy Beef Noodle (Bun Bo Hue) but it is not really authentic. I have tried my friend Phở & Bún thịt nướng, they are great too ?
Great place for Vietnamese food. I have had tried so many Vietnamese restaurant in London as I am a fan of Vietnamese food and I could not missed this new Vietnamese restaurant which just opened near my work place. As usual I tried traditional Pho Beef and then take away a Vietnamese baguette. The Pho is as far the best Pho I had in London, the soup is really tasty, aromatic and the tender beef is just melted in my mouth. The Vietnamese baguette is really nice as well, even I took home and eat it after couple of hours but the taste is still there and the baguette is still crispy. The price is not really expensive and the service is really good. They also have seating outside and will be my usual place to come here.
The BBQ honey pork was insanely tender, incredibly well-marinated and it als ohad that char-grilled BBQ flavour.
You have to mix the pickles/salad, noodles and BBQ pork together. Don't be shy, and just shake it all up whilst drizzling the garlic/chilli vinegar all over it.
Quite good quick eat in central London.
As far as authenticity goes, this delivers one of the better experiences I have had in London for Vietnamese food.
Tried the crab spring roll and Beef stir fried noodle on my visit, both of which were excellent I must say. The spring roll was crunchy and flavourful, but not greasy like it tends to be in many Asian restaurants, so you your tongue can't taste one too many, unless your stomach tells you to stop. The stir fried noodle was a similar story when it comes to the absence of greasiness, making it much leaner to eat. The meat was great for a 9 quid dish, tender, juicy and well marinated. All in all, one of the best sub-£20 lunches I could get around. If only it were nearer to my office..
Also like to second the previous reviewer's comment on "no airs and grace", very casual and friendly place for a quick bite, and make sure you try their coffee!

So, I've been trying a get back into shape.
I've never been one that could *gasp* go on a diet.
The thought causes me to crumble into despair.
That, and because I lack self control when it comes to any type of sustenance.
If you're edible.
I will find you, and when I do. I will eat you.
Anyway, so I've been trying to eat clean(er), you know to get that ass.
But, that doesn't mean that all I'm going eat are steamed carrots and broccoli.
It just means that I will order ONE deep-fried side dish, as opposed to TWO.
Discipline - discipline is the thing!
So, I used to lunch at Viet Eat a lot when I used to work near Holborn.
Recently, I decided to reignite that old love affair.

Viet Eat has that community vibe where you all sit along long tables and benches.
Perfect for food-spying across the table. ;]
There are no airs and graces here, just cheap & decent food.
It's definitely not the place to leisurely lounge, it's more of a 'let's grab a quick bite' thang.

I went for the Tiger Prawn Summer Rolls, Vietnamese Spring Rolls & BBQ Honey Pork with Vermicelli.
Tiger Prawn Summer Rolls
Despite looking a little 'unrefined' they were full of flavour, and had a good ratio of vermicelli noodles to salad.
Nothing is worse than a Summer Roll filled with too much noodles and not much else.
You need to feel that crunch with a Summer Roll or its just a Sad Roll. You feel me? ahaha (I couldn't resist)
Thankfully, these had that crunch, were clearly freshly made and were brimming with flavour.
Vietnamese Spring Rolls
These were generously filled, crispy yet soft and fluffy in the centre.

Gets busy in the evenings, but easy to understand why. A varied menu, good value and nice choices. I always enjoy their pork and seafood spring rolls, and the grilled aubergine with minced pork is very palatable indeed. Nice presentation. This tends to be my "go to" Vietnamese. Particlarly nice mid-afternoon, when it's quieter. Ideal for a late lunch.
The best noodle salad I had. The price perfectly matches the quality. A super amount of meat, comes with three crunchy spring rolls. I especially like the sweet and sour juice at the bottom, which is well balanced with cabbage. I've recommended it to friends. There are many people at dinner time, but the line is not very long.
Nice food but the service could have been better.
Fairly decent Vietnamese street food. A bit pricey for what it is - we ordered two noodles, one starter and two drinks (an Aloe Vera and Vietnamese coffee) and it came to nearly £50. Friend ordered spicy pho and I ordered vegetarian bun with spring rolls and tofu
Great little discovery on Kingsway opposite the very handy Z hotel. Family run, friendly and great choice of some very tasty food. I recommend the beef curry !
Ordered raw beef rice noodles tasted not bad. Baguette was very nice i had 1/3 potions sharing with my 2 friends. Service was top rated.
I came here a few weeks ago and as a viet it has really authentic good food. My server was mai and she provided very fast and accommodating service, it was all around a pleasant experience. Will definitely be coming back:)
Very good service, great food with good affordable choices, and an amazing selection of songs, not too loud, not too quiet, very good taste. Each song ending created an expectation for the next one the whole time I was there. Excellent environment!
Superb. Popped in here for a quick bite after a late work meeting. Quick friendly service but a waiter who asked what I liked and made a (non-pushy) recommendation. Quite delicious and washed down with excellent (if a little expensive at £5.00 a bottle) Saigon beer. All very enjoyable. Fresh and delicious. Well worth the £26.00 for dinner and drinks. Highly recommended.
BEST VIETNAMESE RESTAURANT IN LONDON! Absolutely recommend the red wine beef stew, the soup is so rich and there’s a generous amount of beef.
