Hi everybody! Last Saturday I was so lucky to celebrate my birthday with 20 friends at The Aeronaut In Acton and saw The Circus. This is a place that I absolutely recommend: the people that work there were really friendly, the pub has wonderful decoration and a pretty garden (with stoves for winter time), the show had us open mouthed with suprise like children (conglatulations to the artists), the food was really tasty and the music perfect for dancing. It is hard to please 20 people at once...only in a place like The Aeronaut you get it!!! I would like to say thank you for your kindness and I definitely will recommend this place every time someone asks me for a good/special pub in London. See you soon!! Maria
Great venue, full of character. Bar staff are friendly, attentive, and quick. Food is great; I had the grilled sirloin, cooked to perfection, with a mixed leaf salad and fries, at a stupidly low price! Table service too from your very own singing wait staff! Georgia on my mind, indeed!
The circus show was very entertaining; the comedian/compere/magician kept everything going, juggler, contortionist/balancing act, hoopla-hoop dancer, high-wire act, lion-tamer, and comedy songstress; and all for the low low price of only £15! And big thanks to Claire, on the door, who squeezed me in late even though I hadn’t booked in advance; top girl, top job!
Afterwards the stage was pushed back to make a great big dance floor for the great big happy dancing crowd, and the DJ provided all the R’n’B we could want! Yes I can shake my tail feather!
Great night! I’ll be back soonest. See you all there!
The pub has great ambience and is very spacious. I loved the decor and apparently they hold circuses there on weekends! They have fantastic outdoor space with quirky "stall" booths so definitely going back there for a dinner and show! Food was great and they have some really innovative drinks
Highly recommend it for a chilled out night
This is an awesome place to have a couple drinks. The place itself is huge with different kinds of seating arrangements (Open air, tent etc). The collection of in house drinks are great. Not just the taste, the drinks are super affordable. You could catch up on a game of table tennis between your drinks too. This was a nice one.
Where: The Aeronaut, Acton.
When: Sunday Lunch (3 Courses)
We ate:
Salmon fish cakes, Pulled pork croquettes, Roast pork with trimmings, Roast beef with trimmings, Rice pudding, Toffee and banana pudding
We drank: Virgin Mary, 3 1/3 pints (Stinger, Porter, Winter)
Highlights:
The crunchy pickles and smooth dill sauce with the salmon fish cakes helped to cut through the richness of the cake, and had a great texture. The BBQ sauce with the pulled pork croquettes was also lovely.
Both the pork belly and beef were roasted perfectly. The crackling on the pork was lovely and crisp, whilst the beef had a smooth, delicious flavour. The roast potatoes were exemplary and the carrot mash a revelation!
The rice pudding with mango was absolutely gorgeous. I've never even rice pudding before and I am in love now!
Lowlights:
The fishcakes were mostly potato and only a little bit of salmon which was disappointing.
The chilli in the kimchee that was served alongside the pulled pork croquettes could have been much punchier.
Overall:
If you live out West then the Aeronaut makes a brilliant cosy pub for Sunday lunch. There's plenty of entertainment for kids and even a circus! The roast dinner is worth heading there for.
The entertainment was fab. Went on the Halloween theme night on Sat. Favourite acts were the last two, but wouldn't want to do spoilers for those that wanted to see it in person! Great show to go to. Tickets costs around £33 but went with a massive group.
I had the beast mode burger for food but I know the chicken dish was much tastier. Drinks prices were OK and for 3 alcoholic drinks spent around £20.
Fun Bachata dance classes every Tuesday from 7:30 PM and social dancing after 💃
CIRCUS, CIRCUS, CIRCUS!!! Event at the Aeronaut, What a discovery!! Probably one of the best kept secrets in London nightlife.
I was invited by a dear friend to the Aeronaut in Acton to see The Circus, Circus, Circus event, a regular show that is hosted by the extremely talented "Misty" an incredible singer and funny as F%&@ master of ceremonies
I wasn't really sure what to expect, but Misty introduced a wide range of unique acts and performers, jugglers, acrobats, contortionist, burlesque dancers, sword swallowers and acts that I cannot even begin describe to you what they do, but each and everyone was just a 10/10 for performance and entertainment.
Sometimes dark and off-the-wall, sometimes funny, sometimes shocking and unexpected, but always entertaining. A small and intimate venue that always seems much bigger than it really is.
You will not be disappointed, a great night out.
Super cool venue, really well themed throughout. The shows are great and include a variety of acts, which make it great value for money. They drinks are relatively priced and the food is good too, even though the kitchen shuts very early. Love this place, been a few times now and will come again too!
Cabaret, circus, a rare treat these days! So few places you can go anymore to have this experience - unless you go to the Box (which is unaffordable for the average person!). This show is the same quality, wonderful quirky quality cabaret acts but accessible and welcoming of and for everyone! Such a great night everytime and I really hope they continue hosting these nights for a long time to come. A highlight of our calendar!
Visited my sister in Acton this afternoon and was taken here. Staff were so friendly and helpful. Service was great. Food was lovely and plentiful (big)
Music was great as had great variety. Great atmosphere
Will definitely visit again
Thanks to the staff this afternoon appreciate your service.
Excellent staff and service, good for a meetup with friends, music, and the atmosphere was chilled. They even made the burger sauce as requested by a member of the group ..😍
Week 2: the booze tube ,around our world on a freedom pass:
Measures are 25ml or 50ml so English
Isobella was a great host she made us very welcome ,this pub is closer to the equator than our home in Finchley so we had to take off our coats as it was hot.
A circus theme to the place ,we tried to dogem but got caught and had to pay the bill
Isobella chose our next station on the random app, hello Wimbledon park !
Had a massive and great night here a few weeks ago at the Cabaret. Acts were outstanding very entertaining and I would love to go again. The food and drink at the aeronaut were very good and I would recommend this to anyone for a great night out around Acton and it was the best entertainment I have had for a long time
🙂
An unexpectedly good meal. You can never tell with some of these themed places whether they will be good or not, but the food was excellent. My other half has an extremely large appetite, and he was full afterwards. The menu is limited but fantastic. The place was unusually quiet for a Sunday lunch, but had a fun circus themed interior. Nice and roomy and had easy access for pushchairs. The staff were friendly but a little tired looking.
