It was my second lunch visit with my husband. Once again, we truly enjoyed it! The ambience is relaxing, although they had some renovations going on through one side of the restaurant, we couldn't really notice anything. Staff are brilliantly attentive, and we noticed a new manager on the floor who was smart, elegant and made the whole service spot on. Anyway, the food is always the best part here; we tested and enjoyed every mouthful...delicious. My husband had a two course set menu, and I had a three course set menu, as I needed to finish with their lemon tart meringue, which was freshly made for me so I had to wait a few more minutes, but it was worth it!
Really recommend and we will definitely go back!
Thank you Sonny's Kitchen for yet another fantastic Elm Bank Gardens dinner party on Friday. Every member of staff, every mouthful of food, every sip of wine was just superb. World class service and food! The entire evening was run with precision and panache. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you so much for hosting us again - we will be back! We are so lucky to have such a fine local restaurant in Barnes! Amazing.
We tried the 3 courses for £27 (and a carafe of white separately). Each course was scrumptious. Of special note was the soup, poured theatrically over the egg and fillings within; the Montgomery cheddar souffle - light and airy as a dream and the chicken jambonette with the most amazing crispy ham and potato side you've ever had. Highly recommend. Whilst food portions aren't massive, we were full with 3 courses.
Really good food, especially the celeriac soup with pigs head beignet. Yum. The overall feel of the interior design is less impressive. Staff were friendly but not the most attentive. (do we need to ask the dessert menu or the bill twice?)

We stopped in around 8:30PM on a Friday night, no reservation, and were lucky to get a table for two. The service was attentive and the staff were all pleasant and helpful. I had the lamb with a jacket potato and it was about the most flavourful piece of meat I have ever eaten - delicious. My wife had the cod with gnocchi and it, too was delicious. It was a great dinner.
My favorite restaurant in London! I live locally and is quite a treat to go here. They do a really good Sunday lunch deal which makes it affordable. Great cocktails and wine. Amazing waiters and service could not recommend it enough.
Sonny's had been off my radar for a few years until I revisited last night with a very discerning and dynamic nonagenarian. She was utterly charmed by the whole experience: attractive and welcoming ambience, impeccable Maitre d', delightful waitress and food that was superb and special without being fussy or pretentious. I had pork belly with delicious accompaniments and perfectly cooked green vegetables as sides. Since we were buzzing across the road to the cinema at 9.15 we didn't have time for dessert, but will definitely be back soon to enjoy a more leisurely dinner.
Absolutely the best meal I've had in ages. Really. The ox-cheeks were soft and rich and delicious, and every now and again a little extra burst of flavour delivered in the form of a bacon lardon. Very creamy puréed mash and dark red wine gravy completed the dish. Warm treacle tart with a crispy sweet pastry base and hints of lemon coupled with vanilla ice-cream ended my meal. Seriously good food in a very comfortable deco-style restaurant with a roaring fire at one end. Top marks from me. Scrumptious. 😊
Always a sublime meal. The main menu is ever changing and always fantastic. And their Sunday supper is a great way for people that aren't feeling too flush to have a fantastic and unique meal.
Wonderful food, lovely service, delightful ambience, good value for money, great location, on Sunday evenings only it is possible to bring your own wine without paying corkage!! Heaven, perfection! I recommend it unhesitatingly!
Love this place. A family favourite. Every dish on the menu is always delicious and often changes. Ambience and staff always excellent. 100% worth a visit.
