It really feels like entering an Italian tavern. Small, with a few tables outside. The food is very good, the pasta is handmade. The price is slightly high. Very friendly staff. There is no access for wheelchairs, the restaurant has a step at the entrance, some of the internal tables can be reached via a staircase and the bathrooms are downstairs. Overall, a good restaurant.
Being Italian I often struggle to find authentic Italian food. I think I had the best carbonara here, can’t find any other in London who makes it better(I have tried a few..). We also had seafood spaghetti and arrosticini, both exceptional. Cherry on top was the tiramisu, unreal!
We will come back! Amazing service too. Can’t recommend it enough.
Although we live on the other side of london this is our new favourite spot. Always worth the journey to go and see Silvia and her passionate, knowledgeable team.
The food is remarkable and so tasty. My partner and I have been twice and we intend to let everyone know how great this place is. The best Italian in London by far! Thanks Silvia!
Genuinely felt like a little spot in Italy. Carbonara was up there with the best I’ve had. Bruschetta and calamari were also delicious. Recommend saving room for the tiramisu as well, which was so soft and indulgent. Great food, wine and vibe. I’ll definitely go back again!
Best carbonara in London! Sometimes even famous Italian restaurants in London serve too salty carbonara but here’s was savory and seasoned well.
Also all staff was so friendly and nice.
It’s not low-priced but I think I’ll go back again
Went there with a friend without booking on a Sunday lunch when it was packed. They asked us to wait a few minutes and offered us a glass of Prosecco to apologise for the wait, as well as some arancini. The manager was absolutely lovely throughout the whole time we were there. The atmosphere was nice and everyone was very polite and gave a great vibe. Once we sat at our table we had fast and effective service, the food was piping hot and great quality ingredients. The portions were also good.
We had cacio e pepe croquettes and carbonara as a main. I ordered a lovely Ribolla gialla which was perfect to pair with the pasta. We concluded with an espresso as we were absolutely stuffed after the meal. I would have had a dessert because it all looked delicious.
I will definitely recommend it to everyone I know as it’s a must visit in London.
10/10 for us!
Whenever I’m missing Rome or need a bit of Italy I always dine here.
Taverna Trastevere is without doubt the best Italian restaurant in London.
True authentic food, atmosphere and service.
You really do forget you’re in London. Start with some classic supplì and save room for the tiramisu 👌🏼
One of the best Italian restaurants in London. Lamb cutlets were out of this world. Juicy, tender with a good amount of fat. Pizza is amazingly done. Full of flavour. Pasta was also good. Service is top notch 👌
One of the better Italian restaurants I have tried in London. The highlight was definitely the ragu, amazingly seasoned sauce and al dente pasta. There was four of us so we got a few dishes to share. Portion sizes for the price are also fantastic, lovely atmosphere on a sunny evening.
Amazing service, true Roman cuisine and lovely atmosphere. The dishes are scrumptious and prices are reasonable. The ragù is super, and so is the cacio & pepe and amatriciana. Well done
