During our visit to the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, we came across the Indian cuisine restaurant, Pathiri.
It serves delicacies from the southern Indian state of Kerala. We tried Pepper chicken sukka and chicken lollipops in starters. Pepper chicken was real hot and spicy and a must try for spicy lovers. The portion size was too big for a person and can be easily shared between 3.
Spicy buttermilk was refreshing on a hot summer day.
The okra curry and chicken biryani were good.
The cucumber pachadi (cucumber in tempered yogurt) was cooling with the spicy food.
All in all, the overall experience was too good to taste authentic keralite food in a place like Greenwich.
You also get south Indian snacls such as dosa, idli and vada.
Pathiri is recommended for real south Indian taste with a tang.
Celebrated Onam 2023 with Pathiri restaurant which gave me the memory and exact taste of having onam feast from back home. All the dishes were tasty and fabulous. Never thought of getting pure authentic food from London. Always been a regular customer and this guys never failed my expectations. Hats off to the whole team.
We visited this place on our trip to London! I wanted to try some good Kerala food and this happened to be my closest option in Greenwich(very well located). The food was good, especially the daily meals, appam, Malabar fish curry etc! The starters were delicious too! The ambience is not great, but clean! There are no alcoholic beverages available but you can bring your own booze 😀😀 reminded me of India! If you are craving Kerala cuisine, it’s worth giving it a try! 🫡
This was our first visit to Pathiris, to have Sadhya for Onam.
Food wasn’t served hot but was delicious and had most of dishes we expected. Priced fairly.
We tried Idli, egg kurma, pathiri with chicken, Kerala paratha and payasam.
Idli with chutney and payasam were delicious. I was expecting egg kurma and chicken a bit of spicy but it wasn't.
The taste was overall good. The restaurant was neat and clean.
Recommend it to try authentic Kerala cuisine.
Great South Indian food. Big parottas. Loved the beef ularth. Had onam Sadya with my friend. Was not bad.
Delicious and authentic. Fabulous masala dosa and excellent biriani. Frequented by lots of Kerelans which tells you everything you need to know.
We love to come here for when we crave South Indian food. Dosa never disappoints. Food portions are generous too.
First time I'm visitting this place. Me and friends had onasadhya ( its a feast as part of onam festival in Kerala ). Wow..! The feast was really good. After a long time I was trying some Kerala food. I wish to try some other food as well.
What a delight to return to this authentic South Indian Kerala restaurant after my long absence since the pandemic. The place has changed for the better since I last was here. New tables and chairs and the counter is now by the entrance. Aamir the owner greeted and served us. A friendly family man and he will happily converse with you. If you are unsure what to have he will gladly recommend dishes to order. I would say that this place gets most of their custom by online orders and deliveries. Nevertheless it’s a nice place dine in and come with friends or family. Ideal place to celebrate a birthday party but I suggest you book as it is small inside. And you can keep your cost down by bringing your own drinks. If you are into South Indian food, you will experience authentic malayali food here. For our visit this week my guest and I ordered parippu vada, chicken and lamb biryani and a parippu curry (tarka dhal) Generous portions and food is always fresh and delicious. Other times here I have had the masala dosas which is good to share starter. Mains I had the delicious Malabar fish curry with kerala parathas. Chilli chicken and the varutharacha chicken are also highly recommended with rice and their authentic Avila kerala mix veg with coconut. This veg dish is a nice complement to the rice and curry dishes. If you want to have a nice evening with guests and enjoy authentic South Indian Malayali food this is by far a good place to come. You can bring your own drinks (BYOD) and there is an off licence very close by.
