Cafe On The Lane

2 stars only because of staff - friendly, smiley. But the rules which they need to follow are just ridiculous... I ordered today a decaf flat white to drink in. I wanted to sit for a while on Saturday morning just to chill. Person who served me said I shouldn't really sit in as I didn't order any food so when they will get busy I'll need to leave. Seriously? That's not how customer service should look like. I will understand when for example I wanted to take a sit by table for 8 people but not allowed sit in just to drink coffee? Oh well The second thing was my decaf coffee has been made with already ground beans? I couldn't believe that I paid almost 3.5 for this coffee (was made with oat milk, but still not freshly ground coffee beans for this price it's way too much).

Wonderful home cooked proper food and great friendly, passionate service, what more could you ask of a cafe? Really tasty homemade soups and interesting meals mean there are more healthy options available than your average cafe. I had asparagus & new potato salad and my wife loved the mushroom & chestnut soup. We'll definitely be back for more! Highly recommended.
