Chilli Tuk Tuk

I decided to try out Chilli Tuk Tuk as they’re the only ones that do daal makhani and the daal was so delicious! It was a bit salty though… I also ordered the Sagwala curry which is basically a spinach curry but the chicken chunks were too big and it was a bit too spicy for my liking. I was hoping more for a sag aloo mildness. The only things they’re missing from their menu is lamb chops and sag aloo and they could easily be a favourite Indian.

POSITIVES: Very tasty food, good selection of curries with meat/veggie options, the vegetable sides are all great, not excessively oily, clear labelling around allergens, good packaging, free poppadoms when ordering through their website (not sure if they give these when using food delivery apps as I try not to use them) NEGATIVES: Expensive and smaller portion sizes than other takeaways (worth it in my opinion as it's quality food), the spiciness of the hot curries are a little inconsistent (sometimes hot, sometimes not), the seekh kebabs are quite bland sadly. Overall I've been going for years and it's a great takeaway. As a coeliac I've also never had any problems here, they seem very conscious about gluten.

Such delicious food! We have had four different dishes so far and all have been excellent. None of the excess oil you find in some takeaways, and all natural looking colours and all full of flavour with tender meat. We collected and it's a bonus to see the food being cooked right there in front of you.

Amazing flavours, but be warned: when they describe a dish as ‘hot’ they don’t mean ‘it’s a bit hot’, they mean it is HOT. We ordered the vegetable trio, tadka dal, vegetable jalfrezi, chilli and garlic naan, Punjab sagwala, and pilau rice. The chilli and garlic naan is what most restaurants would describe as ‘very hot’, as is the jalfrezi, both with fresh green chilli and the naan is also doused in chilli flakes. Even the dal was quite hot. I am a chilli freak but even I had to eat it in two sittings. That said, the flavours are incredible: bold, vibrant and layered spicing and every dish has its distinct character. I loved it and will order again.

Exceptional Restuarant with the finest customer service. We had a slight issue with our order as we accidentally ordered 3 rice for 2 people. The kind owner swapped our rice for a more expensive dish without a charge. I wish this wonderful establishment all the success they deserve. Food is outstanding.

Ordered through deliveroo and waited 1 hrs 30mins and still did not receive my food. On calling the restaurant they were very apologetic and explained deliveroo were experiencing some technical difficulties which meant my order was delayed. Following the phone call I received my food within 20 mins and a very apologetic note was stuck to my order. They had also included a complementary starter and pudding. The food tasted great. Lots of flavour and generous portion sizes. Would definitely order from there again.
