LOVE this place. Awesome atmosphere, groovy music, killer drinks, wonderful staff. Buuut y'all should really stop serving plastic straws. Save the turtles n' all. Will pop that extra star on when you go plastic free ;)
I go here all the time with my mates and family. Very friendly and great staff that work very hard. The brownies are the best I have ever had. Karma cola is fantastic and also great breakfast tea. Chill hot chocolate is a personal favourite. Recommend the Angel branch to anyone. Great music ! Xx
I was really sick and tired of the bitter tasted coffees of the chains in London and then I had a chance to stop by this cozy place and have coffee.
It was definitely the best coffee I've had in London hitherto. I had a latte and Alaska cookies on the side, latte was smooth and creamy which is just like how I like my coffee. Cookies was satisfyingly big and delicious, I'd recommend it as well.
Inside was very well designed and vintage. Even if you don't find a table, you can find one in the courtyard behind the shop.
What I liked else was the importance they give to recycling and the environment. They would like you to recycling your stuff which is also great. The only thing is it's a bit expensive place, But if you are an everyday coffee drinker, you might end up exceeding your budget at the end of the month. :)
Delicious coffee. Didn't get a chance to eat / sit but one of the best coffees I've had in London so far although maybe could be a tad hotter. Had a really nice looking outside area which would be lovely to sit in
Very nice coffee. Creamy and full of flavour. Seriously hard to get served though as the place is so popular. May need to check the business model.
While we were waiting for Sainsburys to open, we did a stop for morning coffee and I have to say I've really enjoyed the quality of the coffee. We've also ordered an oreo brownie which was pretty creamy and chocolaty (as one wants!), so overall worth a visit! We need more independent shops like this :)
Very nice spot to tap away on a keyboard or read a book in the morning. Very nice coffee and very nice staff. The atmosphere was pleasant and the decor relaxing.
Coffee Works is a great place to sit for hours and do some work. Their coffee is pretty good and they have a good selection of teas, so you have plenty of hot drinks to keep you warm on a rainy London day. The only thing that is disappointing here is their food. I've been there a few times and I've tried both their sandwiches and their cakes and I haven't really been satisfied by either. The sandwiches are usually made up of bread more than anything else and they're pretty dry. On the other hand the cakes look delicious but they've tried to make them seem healthy and haven't focused on the flavor. I tried their lemon cake which is made with what I think was caraway seeds; which makes no sense at all, and the whole thing just tasted really bland.
On the whole, even though I wouldn't recommend eating here, I would recommend coming here for the ambiance. It's usually filled with people either working or with friends, it's a very casual place where you can comfortably sit all day.
Seriously cute little coffee shop!
I was recommended this place in a Good Coffee Book Guide somewhere and had made a note of it's name in my Google Keep. When my boyfriend's parents asked to meet up in London for coffee I pounced on the opportunity assuring them I had a great place in mind. It is super easy to find, just a small walk from Angel station.
The front of the shop is pretty small and so fills up quickly - so do not worry if it looks busy, the service is really quick and there is seating not only downstairs but outside too. The queue gave us the opportunity to look at the menu and food counter; loads of yummy tea-room snacks on show, fab! The staff were really smiley and we were settled with our food in no time. I would particularly recommend sitting outside as inside is a little bit stuffy!
If you are looking for a substantial meal or just a little snack in the Angel area I would wholly recommend The Coffee Works, I had a lovely afternoon. Why not catch a friend for coffee and cake then check out the Saturday markets!
Best coffee we have had in London so far, nearly as good as CoffeeCafe @ Phillip, Canberra Australia
The perfect find in Islington! Just what you need after a cold, wet morning walk around the antique market. The coffee here is from another planet. Has to be one of the best in London hands down. Once you find yourself a seat and warm up order the food! From pastries to big Mediterranean salads. You will come out feeling warm, glowing and healthy! Can't wait to go again
Plenty of seating types available if you want to meet a friend for a coffee or get some work done. There’s individual desks, bench seating and a large communal table they have all bases covered. The WiFi wasn’t working when I went there but after asking the staff to reboot the router it started to working they were very willing to assist. Hot latte will cost you 2.8 pounds and there’s power points dotted around the room if you’re running low on juice. An assortment of breakfast and pastry options exist although I just tried the coffee which was fantastic. #BeatTheGrind
A spacious coffeehouse with good amount of seats indoor and in their outdoor garden. Great atmosphere and ideal to get some work done here. Coffee was strong and good, but rather pricy for its size. Staff was friendly and accommodating.
Nice place laptop friendly a freshly made teas. Good coffee and cute little garden at the back. Cannot rate the food as I wanted to eat something savoury but at 4pm they didn’t have any left.
I love the coffee from here and their food is great. Often stop in here when going to Business Design Centre for shows. It's a good place to refresh especially if you can get one of the comfy sofas
Bright and open space in a chilled out area of busy Islington. The coffee is great and the blondie is delicious!
This is an absolute gem. Great coffee and breakfast was just what the doctor ordered. The secret garden at the back... perfect😍 Great start to a very busy day👌
Very nice and cosy place with friendly staff. I went there to buy some beans - which were excellent -, and they gave us free coffees. Very nice people.
Cool, modern cafe, serving proper coffee and nice pastries and sandwiches. Only downside is it's so popular it's often full.
Amazing coffee place in Angel. Small, cozy with a fresh smell of pure coffee as you enter the shop. Good prices and quick service. Not too noisy, so we could enjoy a conversation and meet new people. It is totally recommended for a chill evening out. There is also a backyard where you could spend your time when the weather provides good conditions.
Service was good
Had dairy free options
Design and croud is very nice and soothing
I can't say they have the best gourmet options but what they have is good.
