Easily one of the best Chinese joints which have been around for a long time. The hot and sour soup with prawns and pork is a must along with the roasted cantonese duck and egg fried rice. Highly recommended

Decent dim sum. Service was a mixed bag. I had to ask twice for tap water. Had to ask for soy sauce and chilli sauce after dim sum started arriving. Was disappointed by the quality of the commercial chilli sauce but on our way out I noticed they also have more authentic chilli oil. So make sure you ask for the chilli oil. One of the waiters was attentive enough to refill our teapot without having to ask. Everything was served piping hot.
Our order of quarter crispy duck with pancakes was the first item to arrive. Good crispy skin on a duck leg shredded at the table. Sauce of hoisin thinned with soy. Neat julienne of peeled deseeded cucumber and spring onion. Three pancakes each so a perfect starter sized portion for two people.
Cheung fun with deep fried dough stick was very good. The dough sticks are the Chinese savory doughnuts that inspired the Spanish to invent churros. Very tasty sauce--better than other dim sum places I've been to. Har gau was very good quality. Filled with big chunks of prawn instead of mangled minced scraps you get at some places. The dumpling skin was pleasant but not exquisitely stretchy and thin. Not rolled super tight, there was some air in the dumplings. Vegetarian dumplings were tasty but difficult to eat. They did tend to fall apart as you bit into them.
Beef balls with dried bean curd pastry were not a dumpling, but simply steamed meatballs. I probably wouldn't order that again. On the recommendation of a Cantonese colleague I ordered fried turnip cake in XO sauce. This turned out to be a stir fry of chunks of turnip cake on a bed of cooked beansprouts and green onion with dried shrimp and XO. Honestly, I prefer plain old fried turnip cake.
A big lunch for two (we brought home leftovers) washed down with Chinese tea came to £34 before tip.
Had some delicious BBQ pork buns here! They were smaller than what I used to but packed with flavour! The buns were very light and fluffy and the filling to bun ratio was perfect!

We were late for a dinner in chinatown and hence thought to go to any budget chinese restaurant and gerrads corner was our destination.
the veg chowmein was tasty but oily.
the dumpling platter was very nice. moist and succulent inside. you can feel the meat stuffings.
the fired peking pork dumpling were also worth trying.
the total food costed around 27£ and was worrh for a budget dining.
Stopped by for a work dinner w a party of 7 that quickly grew to 10. Service was MOSTLY fast n friendly except for us having to ask for shrimp 4 times before it arrived.
The duck was spectacular - just watching it being sliced was an art in itself ! All other dishes ranging from cashew chicken to sweet n sour pork were delish.
Try the local Chinese beer - it goes well with the food :)
If you love Peking Duck,then this is the place for it.The platter is quite huge with salad and pancakes well presented and the price is not bad for what they offer.It takes time but it's worth waiting.I was here with a friend,both of us were happy with their meal.The staff was helpful enough to give us suggestions.The Interior is quite normal but the food matters :)
Really liked their set menu. TThe apetizzers were great and the food itself very tasty. They have set menus from 16 pounds per person wich is very cheap for london.
Crispy duck is very tasteful. They suggested us to try special fried rice which has shrimp and green peas in it and it was amazing! You also have to have the dim sum platter if you are here!!
Looked up this dim sim restaurant on Zomato and not disappointed! We arrived at 1:30pm on a Monday and got a table straightaway. The waitress brought us a sheet so we could order by ticking off items which was very different from the trolley experience in Sydney. The dumplings in spicy sauce was delicious and the spiciness didn't overpower the dish. We ordered their signature dishes, turnip in OX sauce, rice noodle with fired bean curd skin and prawns, these were our favourites. The beef balls were okay but far from what I had at other places. A nice dim sim experience in London Chinatown!

Mention dim sum in London and most people think of Ping Pong. Maybe a handful will bring up Royal China or Kam Tong in Bayswater…but this little restaurant is my favorite spot for a bit of steamed dumpling action! In fact, we've been coming here for years.
Gerrard’s Corner sits on the corner of Gerrard Street-duh- at the end of Chinatown, on the edge of Soho. It’s reasonably priced, authentic, and full of Chinese families and locals getting their weekly yum cha on. In Chinatown, that’s how you know it’s a good restaurant!
It wouldn’t be dim sum if we didnt get a couple of baskets of Siu Mai- steamed minced prawn dumplings. These are a classic.
My favorite is probably the most simple item- pan fried turnip paste. Trust me- it tastes better than it sounds! Turnip paste and shrimps are minced together and then fried until there is a nice crispy crust on the outside. The closest I could describe the taste is like…fried noodles squidged into a square!
Another old favorite is prawn Cheung Fung. Whole prawns wrapped in a steamed rice roll with a sweet soya sauce drizzled on top. I could drink the soya sauce, it’s insanely tasty!
The lotus leaf wrapped sticky rice is good here- called Lo Mai Gai. I always get nostalgic whenever we get this dish as it’s the closest thing to a Malaysian treat called Pulut Panggang that I can find here. A mixture of chicken, soya sauce, dried shrimp and chinese mushrooms are wrapped in a parcel of sticky rice and then wrapped again in a dried lotus leaf and steamed.
We always get a steamed bun of some sort- this time we ordered some Char Sui Bao/Barbecue Pork buns. The buns are fluffy and soft- and I have a feeling thanks to the opening of Flesh & Buns and the popularity of Yum Bun- could possibly be the next trendy food item the city goes nuts for. Pull apart the soft bun and a sticky sweet mixture of barbecue char sui greets you. They do a chicken and mushroom version that is to die for as well.
Gerard's Corner is an institution- thoroughly recommend a visit.
I came with a table of 5 for my graduation meal and all the food was 10/10. The hot and sour was one of the best soups I’ve had and I’ve definitely had a lot of hot and sour soups in my life. The pork dim sum in chilli oil is a must , the soft shell crab, beef ho fun noodles , the beef curry , absolutely everything was delicious , we were all satisfied. The crispy pork belly was delicious.
We were in 5 and we had the menu C which had something like 10 specialities for bout £20 a head. All were of excellent quality and tasted excellent. The price is good considering the location and quality. We were served quickly. The food was extra abundant so we had to leave a lot of food, specially the last dishes unfortunately as we were full.
The only negative I would say was the were were rushed a little because there were people waiting for tables so maybe is not the right place if you want to relax and have a long talk over the table.
A great place with super service, fresh and very tasty food where watching the eclectic throng of people passing is just great. Eat here, it’s fabulous.
I am leaving 4 star because the quantity of food is very good. Service is very effective but they make you pay upfront. I ordered lobster dinner. Soup came, I had five sips, then lobster came. I had to leave soup or lobster would get cold. Hot and sour soup had no meaningful seafood in it and was watered down. One waitress looked hard and deep in the soup and could not find any seafood and called another waitress. Another waitress came and said it's in there but cut very small so you can't see it. I could not find any.
Lobster was excellent.
The roasted whole baby pig there was so good. A must have item when dining in a group.
Ordered my most favourite food in the world for lunch (wonton soup followed by crispy pork and roast duck) and really enjoyed it. The service was quick and polite. The place was clean with nice music playing in the background.
Was passing by this place while in Chinatown and decided to try. We hour sweet and sour chicken, beef vermicelli, peeking duck for 2, and pork dumplings. Everything was delicious, the duck could have been thicker and juicer otherwise was great. Towards the end when bill came, the hostess try and trick you by not showing the whole receipt to get more tip than what they already take and we fell for it. So make sure you check receipt before paying!
Whilst this is a fairly pricey restaurant in London's China Town, it is by far the best Chinese food that I've had here. Each dish was honestly delicious and full of flavor. The beer was great too. This restaurant is centrally located and easy to find. The staff were friendly but very busy.
Very consistent. Been going for 22 years. Lively dim sum. Fast service.
We were a table of 10 with kids.
Staff were nice and food was great and hot.
Only let down was with a dairy allergy only fried rice and noodles were avaliable, all other dim sums we had ordered for the table was a no go which was a shame.
