Loved this place. You can totally grab the food on the go or you can eat and sit there. There service is pretty quick and nice. The food is yum. You can try their chicken, coffee and deserts. These are the specialties. Really in love with this place.
I came here with my friend and I can say that it was a decision we don't regret. The decor was great and fitting and the food was delicious although the portions I feel were too big. Overall, a great place which I would recommend
The best southern fried chicken burgers in London hands down! Really cool quirky decor, perfect for friends and smooth service. Don't really understand the bad reviews, i'll be back again!
Lovely brunch here, really enjoyed my 'bojangles' very delicious indeed. As were pancakes. Hope to return in future for the chicken and waffles.
June 2017 we returned for lunch and really enjoyed our burgers and chicken and waffles. Esp loved my root beer.
How fitting, then, that my blogging calendar has me writing about something I truly love today (I love many things, but today's topic is definitely one of them!). I love brunch. The options, the chat, the cocktails, the coffee. There's something so delicious and inviting about spending time over a meal with friends, family, loved ones, and a long brunch is a charming way to catch up and check in.
Amazing buffalo chicken burger with blue cheese sauce and some of the best fries I've ever had.
Friendly staff, (prompt service), cool decor and generally cool Americana vibe.
Recommend.
We’ve all known about Stax Diner (if you haven’t you must have been living in a bubble! Click here and here to check out my previous reviews on this place). I written two posts about them and in the more recent one, I mentioned that they are opening a sister restaurant. Guess what, the sister restaurant has already launched and the food there was bomb.
Words cannot explain how great my experience was with this place. I visited this place on a Friday evening and I was quite surprised to see that there was only one group of people there because reading reviews on this place other people mentioned that there is usually a wait. It was so heartwarming to see all the workers socialising and having a great time. It's unusual to see coworkers get along this well and creating such a good atmosphere. It was my first time going to this place so I needed a bit to make up my mind regarding my order. The workers were super understanding and super polite.
I have tried quite a few of halal burgers in London and I can say that this is one of my favourites. If you visit you should definitely get the glazed beef bacon because it's AMAZING!
Also when we were eating the workers put up the reserved tags on all of the tables so if you would like to visit on a Friday, you should reserve a table just so you will not be disappointed!
You can also bring your business cards because every business card is exchanged for a portion of wings!
Heart of Old street serving halal meat burgers and chicken. Friendly service. Mocktails were refreshing. Reasonably priced. Try out the unlimited wings for £15 Korean...buffalo...some other flavours which was a real hit for us. Good friendly service by the lovely people which added to the good experience.
Nice burgers and fresh lemonade. Friendly service, a bit slow though. Tempting sides too, shame we couldn't try the whole menu in one go! Milkshakes looked sizeable. Decent value for money.
Amazing food, had the Chipotle ribs soft shell tacos and steak tacos nashville wings bbq wings and sweet potato fries reasonable pricing. Customer service friendly welcoming. Will deffo return.
I'm a bit of a Bea Vo disciple, having been a visitor to Bea's of Bloomsbury's, a frequenter of Stax and now an addict of Boondocks. They all offer a reassuring slice of Americana but Boondocks trades the cosy courtyard setting up for a larger, characterful site with an expanded menu and a more grown-up feel (though still relaxed).
Expect to find fried chicken, beef burgers to order, chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy, chicken & waffles (with maple syrup), animal style fries, wings, and milkshakes. A little treat here is the deep fried onion blossom; an onion the size of a bowl sliced and fried to create dozens of onion sticks rather than onion rings (but get one between 3/4 because they are big). While just on the pricey side, don't let the classy decor fool you: this is authentic American diner food, very well made as opposed to anything fancy.
They also have a full brunch menu as well as interesting regular events with special menus that aren't available at any other time. I've yet to try their desserts because I've always left completely stuffed! Regardless, I've never been disappointed at Boondocks and I always endeavour to return to try the rest of their menu.
Great service, beautiful cosy setting and great food! Love that there are good been and veggie options AND they gave me brown bread!
Staff were really nice and the food is banging. Definitely get the wings and if you have a sweet tooth then the Duffin is for you! I really enjoyed it and will definitely be coming back here when ever I am in the area.
Food was great and the portion size are really large. The decor gives it a really nice atmosphere as did the friendly staff
