A really nice French menu (could do with a few translations for my Portuguese speaking wife) was excellent for lunch. Totally delicious. I wish they had steak tartare at lunch, but we found plenty of wonderful food and the coffee was sublime, as were the bakery items.

Coffee is ace here, their pastry is incredible as well! Staff is lovely, always friendly and helpful, I forgot my phone at their cafe, and they promptly found a way to reach me, keeping my belongings safe, what a relieve. I'd recommend Nenettes!

Excellent coffee (and other stuff) shop, I have only popped in here a few times for a quick coffee. The staff are friendly and very professional. The coffee is excellent and the ambience is superb. This refreshment stop is well worth a visit and repeated visits. I should be careful to praise this shop too much as its new fame may inhibit my next visit lol.

We've lived round the corner from Les Nenettes since it opened, yet we only recently (in the last 6 weeks) have started to visit (more times than once). The first time we went for mid-week dinner. I had the steak & frites - It was excellent. Washed down with a smooth glass of red and followed by dessert (photo). We were lucky enough to have great weather and sat outside. Another time we went for breakfast on a weekend. I had eggs royal (see photo), again superb! Service is good(a little more customer interaction would improve on what's already good. Les Nenettes sets an awesome standard for restaurants in the local (Lower Clapton) area, I don't think anything comes close to its quality, price and overall satisfaction.

Les Nenettes, translating in slang to birds or chicks, is an apt name for this all female owned and run French restaurant in Hackney .Situated in Clapton, only a 7 minute walk from Hackney Downs, Les Nenettes is a must visit. It has ample space outside for al fresco dining and drinking – perfect for the warmer evenings. The interior is relaxed and cosy with a map of France on the wall highlighting the main cities. With a decent list of aperitifs and cocktails, you can start your meal as you mean to go on! There are also a decent selection of wine and the Malbec is recommended. I basically wanted the entire menu from the snacks and starters section! We shared the Deep Fried Babybel and onion jam (£5.50). Yes you heard me right – babybels battered and fried resulting in oozy cheesy goodness. The onion jam was a great accompaniment too. I also had to try the Buffalo Frog Legs, blue cheese sauce (£5,50) which were, as I had been told, similar to chicken, Not as meaty (understandably) but the buffalo sauce and blue cheese went very well. Finally, we had the Legumes croquants & Ravioles de Romans. Again, a great selection on the menu with a special dish on offer every evening. I saw the Rump Streak being served to other guests which looked amazing, However, I had my heart set on the Duck Magret, tagliatelles de Royans, morels (£16.95) which had been recommended by friends. We were not disappointed – the portion of duck breast was generous and there was barely any fat on the meat. A really fantastic dish. We had the Black Cherry Gateau Basque, crème fraiche for dessert. It was not gateau as I would think of it but more tart based but very silky and smooth. It reminded me of a bakewell tart which I LOVE so I was very content. Les Nenettes restaurant in Hackney offers fantastic French food at affordable prices. Combined with great service from the staff and relaxed surroundings, I definitely recommend a visit. Tip: If you visit between 12 and 6,45pm you can take advantage of the “La Formule” deal which offers a dish of the day and a glass of house wine or a soft drink for only £9.99. What a great deal

Lovely local French eatery, serves good back to basics French Brasserie classics. I’m not giving it 5 stars because it lacks a certain atmosphere, but do not be put off. The food is very good fare, good value for money too. Most importantly the staff here are amazing. We only come in with children, and usually quite a gaggle of them and they are beyond patient and attentive.

Visited this place today with my family. Have to say that the service was great. The food delicious and the price really reasonable. We all had the special of the day, a nice glass of wine and a really good coffee all for under £10 each. The menu is brunchy with a French influence. Definitely reccommend and will visit again for breakfast in the future.
