Tavistock Tandoori

3.5-4 stars. Visiting from the states. I was looking for some authentic Indian food. This place was near my hotel. The staff did not give a very warm welcome. Did not check on me once during the meal. Vegetable samosa was ok but underwhelming. Garlic naan was good. Chicken Kurma was different than any I’ve had before but very tasty. Overall the food was pretty good. Service was sub par.

We found the staff to be friendly and helpful - but we engaged in conversation which always helps. Food was good. I had the Jalfreze and asked for vindaloo hot which was recommended when I told them my favourite curries - it was just right with lots of flavour. House wine was fine. Not fancy surrounding or accompaniments but good decent meal.

An average Indian restaurant with a fair price. My friend and I visited on a weekday evening and there were only two other groups in there. The waiters were quick to serve us. We ordered one of their set menu which was fairly priced, and it came quickly. Would be nice to have some ambient music playing in the background, as it was a bit silent at times! This place serves most food you'd expect in an Indian restaurant. The staff are very nice. Would visit again if I'm looking for Indian in the area!
