Fantastic craft beer pub, with great food and helpful staff. Tonight I went to the pub. Nothing unusual about that. What touched me was seeing the value the pub has in the community. Employment and a social connection for the staff who work here. A space for friends to meet, reminisce and laugh. Somewhere for single travellers like myself to enjoy a sociable pint and a bite to eat. The building was Victorian, with tiled bricks and stained floorboards, welcoming and solid, a link to a shared history, even if you are not from the area. We come, we sit, we watch we talk. The Pensioner is everything a great local pub should be, fantastic craft beers, honest and tasty home cooked food and a welcome you won't forget.

Well, what can I say, I could not fault this place, visited Bank holiday Sunday, Roast dinner was first class and incredibly good value, a gem of a place, with a wide mix of people, everyone talks to each other, Chelsea game on the TV, absolutely thrilled to have discovered this place, oh, and the cat is adorable
