Almost Saturday

A friendly independent cafe serving Italian specialities. I could sit at these south facing pavement tables for hours and watch the world (and quite a few of my friends and neighbours) go by. Coffee excellent, Italian beers and a few wines. The pasta lunch bowl with salad is a great hit. Such a change from chain cafe faux Italian.

We felt immediately welcomed, the proper Italian way! Claudiana is a lovely host, smiling, fast pacing, which made us immediately feel welcome. We have been very well looked after as if we were having an Italian aperitivo back home ❤️ it's rare to find passion in hospitality nowadays, but Claudiana and her mom (yes! I had the honour to meet the master of the kitchen!!!!) are really pushing through and making the difference in a bland scene! If you are homesick, go and pay them a visit, it is worth it!!! Also, I've been recommended to come back for lunch and really can't wait to do so! If you are looking for an authentic place, away from the crowded Oxford Street, you just need to go round the corner and allow yourself to travel to Italy with Almost Saturday hospitality and aperitivo! I really like this cosy italian cafe. The location is in the middle of fitzrovia and is very famous among people working in the area for the nice homemade food and panini you can find. Parma and mozzarella is one of the piece of resistance of the panini offers, while amatriciana, lasagna and parmigiana are the classics for the "primi" team. Claudiana and her mom are great hosts and very lovely. Always smiling and happy to exchange a quick chat over a coffee. The cafe has a deli corner with few products like cookies, wines and other delicacies. Seems pretty obvious that I love the place and I'm now a usual customer there. Being Italian myself it's nice to go to a place that feel very close to home and what I grew up with. 100% endorsed.

I love this cafè! It’s authentic and the atmosphere makes you feel like home (though I do use it for business meetings as well and received great feedback). The tiramisù is second only to my mother’s! The food is always fresh, with dishes changing through seasons. The lasagne, pasta and paninis are great as well as the several bites in between. Great coffee too and good value for money!

This place is a little jewel. Definitely the place for italian coffee and food lovers. The food is delicious: the owners prepare and cook everything themselves and always make sure to deliver their high standard quality product with a smile. You can always engage in a nice conversation with them but if you want some yourself-time you can sit in the pods, plug your device in and work or listen to the music while watching outside the windows. Recommended to employees that wish to have a delicious lunch break or to passers-by who simply want to taste an excellent italian coffee. Will come back again.
