Delicious authentic food but the service can be painfully slow at times and some of the front staff are a little miserable. HOWEVER the food is amazing which is why it's always packed! To avoid the long waits, call ahead and collect or order a delivery. UPDATE 2023 I've been coming here for years and will always return, as the quality of the food is consistent. You can park for free outside and they accept card (£10 min) and cash.

Best home cooked food this side of London. I used to live in Hither Green and work in the Queen Elizabeth close by. Each time after a very long shift this is the place I would come to for a special treat. This place is family owned and has been around for what seems like forever. When you visit you will notice that is mostly the Family that is doing the cooking, with the Matriarch in the background overseeing the whole process. Regarding the food, I mean where to start? Their pasties are home made, none of that frozen stuff, and dumplings are made daily and in a variety of flavours. My go to dish was the oxtail and butter beans, but their curried goat was a close second. The rice and peas were out of this world.... They do a great jerk chicken and there is a daily cooking of various types of fish with a vast variety of sides to accompany, such as greens, veg curries and the like. One final thing to mention is the fact that I have been in this establishment when very poor and destitute people have come in for a feed and they have been treated like kings, with a full spread of food to feed them. Anyone can come in if they are poor and hungry and these, God's real people, will do their duty towards their brothers and sisters, and offer sanctuary and respect to those that need it the most. My advice is to go there and try EVERYTHING

Born Jamaican 🇯🇲, All of the foods that I have tried as been excellent in taste, still trying to keep the original seasoning (please don't change), portions just right, excellent price increase, delivery and waiting time good, keep it up. Ps. This is a small premises, friendly service, parking ok, wheelchair accessible.
