This restaurant serves Indian cuisine with class yet at affordable prices. The menu has a lot of Bengali-oriented dishes; overall it accomodates for vegetarian and other diets, there is a great and interesting selection to choose from and enjoy. Samrat is a great choice, whether it's lunch-for-two or a big group dinner celebration; alcoholic drinks are also on offer in this beautiful old-fashioned setting. On top of it all, the service is great.
Just back from a trip to Ireland, had a few pints in The Abbey (just down the road), was gonna get a takeaway but decide to eat in. Was not disappointed!! The food was gorgeous...I don't normally have any starter but was so hungry after getting in from the airport. So had sheek kebab, amazing. Then chicken Korma and a garlic naan, amazing!!! Then I had a dessert (which I never do cause I'd be so full!?) Anyways had choc ice cream and it was sooo nice, helped cleanse the pallette mmmmm! So glad I went in!
Nice setting inside, good food- me and my family really enjoyed it, service could have been slightly better. I'm surprised this restaurant wasn't packed for a Saturday evening considering the quality of the food. I would certainly recommend !
