My first time dining at this venue I settled on lunch,
Very much liked the interior of Wood throughout as I entered.
I ordered the squid starter,
Little disappointed on this dish as it was an Indian dish version of calamari.
The tandoori Machli made up for things it just fell off the bone and , tasted wonderful that I sent my complements to the kitchen.
Alas no dessert on offer. Whether that is just a lunch thing I am yet to find out,
I fully intend to return.
Have subsequently been back and tryed the curry Malay (See photo) evoked memory's of Kandy
The food was great and the service was very fast and efficient - everything moves like clockwork!! It’s undeniably a very popular restaurant with clear relationships built between regular customers and staff :)
Nice restaurant! They have limited place, but could cater our group of 8 people. We had to wait for 1 - 1.5 hours till our food arrived, which seemed long to me. It was tasty, but different than I previously experienced in Indian restaurants. We had a birthday girl and they helped us surprise her with a dessert with a candle, which was sweet :)
I'm so obsessed with curry I'll try every place I possibly can, including most in Wimbledon. I'll always come back to Curry Royal as it is consistently impressive.
The menu is extensive and includes loads of dishes you won't see anywhere else. Tonight there were six of us so we ordered plenty of their unique starters but there are so many more I want to try, I'll have to go back again and again.
The welcome is as good as you will experience in any restaurant and the manager in particular will go out of his way to make sure you have a good time. He's always come up trumps with special dishes, chutneys and sides that aren't on the menu – Loving your work!
And of course, the food is awesome. Everything is cooked fresh, the dishes are interesting, varied and look incredible. Photogenic curry! It all tastes so good I won't ever let them chuck any away – Doggy bag for sure!
Keep up the good work, Curry Royal
Honestly, its the best curry I've ever had! The staff are brilliantly friendly yet not pushy, service is excellent, the beer is cold and the food is superb. It's a shame I'm not around often because if I was it would be my regular curry house. Cannot rate it highly enough!
I've been comming to Curry Royal restaurant for many years. Kias the manager is very friendly. He goes out of his way to make your evening and enjoyable one.
Came here last week with my brother and ordered my meal. Unfortunately the food was not hot enough so l asked one of the waiters if get could sort out the problem.
One of them said I don't deal with that in front of a customers.
I was really shocked to hear that. But anyway. I always enjoy the food , and company, keep up the good work Kias.☺
Love it - great value and good food. What I like most is when it comes to ordering and you're not sure... Speak to Kiaz and he'll sort you out a knock out dish exactly as you want - sweet, spicy or hot - as you want!
Great place, definitely worth a try. Friendly staff with good quality food. Don't let the outside look put you off, it's a lovely restaurant.
