But when it came to the actual meat on offer, and the price for that meat, Anatolia was a mighty contender. All of the meat was liberally seasoned and absolutely delicious. I couldn’t fault it. I would say that maybe, the flecks of extra meat in the rice were rather unnecessary, but as Stephen put it, nice to have all the same.
I used to love going to this place. Large portions, dark lighting, the smell of grilled food and nice staff. My meal was always the chicken donner with rice. There was no need for me to try anything else because I was satisfied with what I had. I haven't been for a while but a family member wasn't pleased with the latest service - oh well that can be their review. Mine's all positive :-)

Yep, we’ve been to yet another Turkish ocakbasi, this time one of the ones on Mare Street. We just cannot get enough of our grilled meats! I hadn’t eaten much all day and was very ready for the veritable feast laid before us in the form of the mixed grill for two. We had quail, beyti kebab, cis kebab, lamb ribs, chicken wings and chicken kebab all laid over buttery rice which had pieces of chicken and lamb doner mixed in it! We also had a couple of bits of offal which weren’t advertised but I managed to avoid them.
This huge platter came with a basket of warm, soft and chewy bread, and a plate of salad with onions, tomatoes and cucumber next to red cabbage and grated carrot. I would like to say there was far too much to eat, but we made a pretty good stab at getting through it all.
As always, I compare any new Turkish place to my favourite – Cirrik. And it compared favourably. I have to say, nowhere has managed to rival the wonderful (and free!) oniony salads that Cirrik offer you, doused in pomegranate sauce. And I also thought the bread at Cirrik was better – the stuff at Anatolia went hard as it cooled, and they didn’t have a piece underneath the meat to soak up all the juices.

And this was all only £25! With three drinks our bill only came to £35! A bargain, and tasty. Being marginally closer than Cirrik and not much in it in terms of food, it could earn itself our repeat custom.
After this we had a few pints in the Cock Tavern, which I liked even more the second time, as I hadn't noticed the vast array of ciders it has! We cosied up in a corner and drank until closing time.
We had a wonderful family meal at Anatolia Restaurant. The service was great, and everyone there were welcoming and accommodating. Both food and drink were incredible! Highly recommended for family gatherings.
Delicious food, super friendly staff! The portions are well sized, at a fair price. I recommend it.
Incredible donner kebab. Takeaway so can't comment on service. It is another level of kebab. The bread and rice are 4/5 the sauces nothing special and is the only complaint I could make as if they made these fresh it would be perfect. The meat is the star of the show and you will not get better anywhere and that includes Istanbul. I can only speak of the Donner meat but the others cooking on the coal BBQ looked incredible.
Chicken and lamb Donner with rice, bread and salad enough to feed a pig was £13
A real treasure. There aren't many places in London where you can have a sit down meal with table service after midnight! We had grilled kebabs, rice, bread and salad. All delicious, with plenty of leftovers for tomorrow. The staff were extremely gracious and friendly. I'm sure we'll be back!
Excellent Turkish restaurant. Lovely staff, great food and big portions ! We had the Lamb with yoghurt sauce, incredibly yummy and served with plenty of sides. Nice atmosphere too.
Really nice food, quality and portions! Large space, easy to find table, or takeaway!
Been here twice now as my go to cheap and cheerful neighborhood feed. There is usually plenty of tables available and service is friendly. I always get the mixed meze plate to start and the mixed grilled for 1 can be easily shared by 2. Mains also come with bread and a plate of salad so be sure to make tummy and table space. There is usually always enough leftovers to be taken home.
Lovely food straight off the charcoal pit, it was fresh and very reasonably priced. We turned up as a group of twelve and had no problems whatsoever with the seating arrangement as it was quite a big restaurant what so ever. My group go here for fellowship every Saturday after our meeting and it is always good service, beautiful food, great service and lovely setting. I think this restaurant is a little gem my personal opinion and the salad and sauces was beautiful. Five stars from us thank you
Hands down the best Turkish restaurant for eat-in and takeaway in the area. Fresh produce and friendly service - always.
Food was spot on, I took my step mum there for a treat, we shared the Prawn cocktail as a starter because the portion was big. The main was tasty, the service was brilliant.
