Stumbled upon this place by chance...an unexpected, hidden gem off the main road. Beautiful decor, friendly staff, & seriously sexy food! Great selection of choices for both veggie/pescis (me), & meaties (the boy - who loved the crunchy chicken special) Recommend the ginger/sake cocktail, and the miso aubergine!
Great yummy food (we chose all the vegetarian options, also 2 from the daily specials, those were extra tasty), fast friendly service, not overpriced at all (£63 for 6 dishes, incl tip and 3 glasses of wine) only the little wooden stools to sit on were a bit uncomfortable, but the decor is beautiful! Loved it!
Incredible food (the sashimi is so fresh), wonderfully attentive staff.
Opening the box was like opening a treasure chest. The food was utterly delicious, a little late arriving but that was forgiven after the first mouthful. We had the mixed special half black - half white. The soft-shelled crab was a highlight but it was all fab, from the edamame to the miso soup. Looking forward to ordering again, and the opening of the restaurant.
Many thanks!
Such a gem...attention to every detail
Soooo Fresh, soooooo Good.. Very happy to have this quality of Japanese food delivery in the area and can't wait for the restaurant..
Our favourite place. I could eat there every day..
I really enjoyed it! The place is full of good energies and makes you fell really relaxed.
Really good sushi! With avocado and salmon!!!!!
Whilst I may not be a connoisseur of Japanese food, I have been fortunate enough to visit some of the best restaurants in London and I would not hesitate for a second to class this as any lower on my list. The pork belly robata was insanely good and the tempura was perfectly fried. It wasn't too oily but equally wasn't too dry. It's tucked away in the side streets of Clapton so can be easily missed but, for my stomach's sake, I hope this restaurant is here to stay.
What a gem of a Japanese restaurant! The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, making you feel right at home. The food is an absolute delight, fresh ingredients, perfect cooking and beautiful presentation. And the decor? It's stunning! The perfect spot for a memorable meal with friends or a special date night. Don't miss it! 🩷
UCHI is a cozy, authentic Japanese restaurant, I recently visited. It was a memorable experience. The warm wooden decor and attentive staff set the tone. The menu was a culinary delight, featuring exquisite sashimi and sushi. What stood out was the attention to detail, from top-quality ingredients to the sake selection. If you seek an intimate and unforgettable Japanese dining experience, this restaurant is a must-visit.
Very nice place and from the same owners of MEN Chatsworth road .Food is delicious. A bit funny with the table and table number menu and order cards , maybe they are usually much busier than when I visit ( Monday ) to justify it. ( I am sure ) .I have ordered 3 dishes, I should have ordered more sushi (I am 183 cm tall men).I have ordered only green tea and not sake ( as only Monday 😉)
This is such a beautiful space. It’s peaceful so you can actually enjoy the atmosphere despite it being busy on a Friday eve for dinner. Staff were super accommodating and helpful. One thing I’d say - it was a bit tricky with the specials - had to take a photo of the specials “board” with other diners in the way.
I’d say also the aubergine dish had a little too much honey in it for me. The cocktail didn’t have a lot of flavour to it either. But overall fab experience and would definitely go again. Mostly for the atmosphere but the food wasn’t bad at all. Service too. Very attentive staff. A lot of attention to detail. It’s not super cheap but worth the night out with friends or for a date, for sure.
This place is unreal! Loved the vibe and the food too, will definitely visit again
After a few years since our last visit, it was just as good! Amazing food!
The food was delightful and the service very attentive. The decor is on the minimal concrete side. The prices somewhat difficult to digest for an Australian wallet.
my absolute favourite sushi in london. must go. the atmosphere is just too good
We always have a wonderful time, excellent service and beautiful food every time we dine here since discovering a few years ago.
Have been twice in the last month and must leave a special mention for the waitress, who is always seems attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the food, even when the place is busy and she seems to be the only one on!...
(struggling with staff I think at the min).
Got a takeaway order on a Saturday early evening. We bought two types of sushi (mushroom one and soft crab one), chicken yakitori and aubergine with miso. The dishes were all quite tasty, and I would especially highlight the aubergine, with was spectacular. And I’m not some kind of aubergine super fan. But the miso really kicked it up a notch and the roasted peel of the aubergine was also nice. The chicken was surprisingly spicy but nothing over the top. The value for money is decent overall, I’d say. This was our first time trying Uchi and we’ll definitely order from them again and hopefully have the chance to visit the restaurant.
