So last night I went to Plates and it was just fantastic. Keeley, Kirk and the team there deliver a really welcoming and slick service. It's understated in the way that makes you feel like you're joining a giant family dinner and yet the food is on a level with any Michelin starred restaurant I've visited. I genuinely haven't enjoyed such flavoursome food for a long while: Kirk's imagination and innovation has breathed life into dishes that just sing with colour, flavour and goodness. The vibe at Plates is something everyone should enjoy on a Saturday evening.
Blown away by the quality and the taste of the food. Each dish was fantastic. Best plant based food I’ve ever had. Will definitely come back again to try the autumn menu. The service was really good as well, the server told us everything about the food and kept us engaged throughout the night.
Super food, an exceptional vegan fine dining experience. Food was absolutely delicious and just the right amount to keep you fed whilst enjoying a million flavour and textures. My first reaction to the first bite: "there's a lot going on in my mouth right now". Service was absolutely wonderful as well, always looking after us. You also get a full explanation of what's in the plate and the chef comes out for a short chat when some meals are served.
Would definitely recommend this as a "must experience" especially if you are a food lover.
Hands down the most innovative & delicious vegan food I’ve had in London. The process & thought that went into the menu just blew my mind. I went here with low expectations as I’m rarely impressed with the vegan fare I’ve had in London but this is happy food that makes you smile & wonder how the heck someone has the ingenuity to make everything served taste the way it did - especially the cabbage dish (I was there last summer). Super talented chef & team. Cannot wait for this restaurant to open again. The bread was also so amazing - please open a bakery or something. 👏🏽
Hands down the best vegan food in town! Kirk’s seaweed caviar is absolutely brilliant, alongside the fur potato! Want to go back for seconds.
Went for dinner and was a lovely plant-based dining experience. Every course looked like art on a plate/bowl, and staff were really friendly!
This is not a pop up! It’s a permanent vegan, gluten-free and refined sugar free once a week restaurant with a seasonal and really unique menu presented on amazing plates and bowls! Chef and staff super friendly! LOVE THIS PLACE!
We visited Plates at their Untitled Bar residency. Every course was so delicious, the flavours were amazing and the presentation was beautiful. The pace of the tasting menu courses was relaxed which gave time to enjoy and savour each dish and enjoy the great drinks list too. (Personally I think tasting menus can sometimes be overwhelming if the courses come too fast). The service was really great, it was an amazing evening and we will definitely go again :)
Incredible experience, I would give it more stars if I could. A true journey of the taste buds. Everything worked in harmony with the perfect balance of flavours. The carrot dish was so clever and the tomato dish was so refreshing yet had hidden depths. Vegetables handled with love, care and attention. We came to London especially to visit Plates after watching GBM last year and we were not disappointed. An extra treat was that Kirk personally delivered one of the dishes and we were both a bit starstruck. What can I say, we are always a bit gushy when presented with amazing food. Go, you will not be disappointed.
Beautiful. Really beautiful food. Very technical dishes but is delicious to all. A real gem that hopefully sticks around. I’m not personally vegan but this was one of my highlight meals of the year. Good value for the current climate we’re in. Looking forward to going back soon.
Fantastic food, super impressed with some of the dishes! No complaints there.
Have to say service was pretty rough though, there was only one poor lad with the whole room (excluding runners) and although the food came out in decent time, it was a very long wait for the first drink and then it was so tricky to get any attention (nor did anybody notice every time a dish came out/cutlery changes etc) that we gave up on getting another.
I appreciate it's a hard time for staffing, hope they work it out as the food is a stunner.
